How do I pick this baywatch up using one lift point (an electric hoist)?

My current thinking is two small chokers both tied in to the hook on the hoist.

Same way your wife would pick up

I think I'd use that handle up front maybe. Is there nothing on the uh...transom?

2022 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link

I wonder if you could run a line through the scuppers

I'd worry over time the screws on the handle would pull out of the plastic. Getting the kayak balanced with chokers seems like it might could be a PITA too.

Maybe making a small fixture for the kayak to sit on would be easiest? So you could just slide it on and off without worrying about getting it balanced every time?

I'd be afraid of running any support lines through the body

A few really hot afternoons and the rotomolded plastic would just conform into whatever position its being pulled in.

I think you're onto something with a supporting frame or something.

I thought about the supporting frame, but that would mean

I would still have to pick it up off the frame. Ideally I can just lower into the truck and remove a couple straps.

If the seat was bolted down on front and back (it's only bolted by the front) then I could put a bar underneath and latch to both ends....

Is there room to back your truck into the garage?

You could lower the frame to truck bed height and slide her on in.

How about a cargo net?

[3]
Nov 29, 2021, 11:51 AM

Back the truck in the garage, lower the net/boat combo into the truck bed, slide it out of the net into the bed.

Retrieval is the reverse of the removal.

Put the two transom corners in a net "hole". Stick the "bow" in a net hole. Winch it back up and out of the way.

A 10-foot A-Frame ladder in one and an extension ladder of forgotten max length in the other. Neither one is heavy, but neither is "light." Lifting the extension ladder is a chore, but it does the job.

Easy install (literally 6 bolts or sommat).

Still don't have a solution. I guess unistrut would make a good spreader bar so long as it can handle the weight.
