I really like the young man as a really good human being but something is wrong with him as a QB in an elite program that depends on excellence on the field.
If he stays, which we need for a sub, then that’s ok.

Chase Bryce transferred to App St and led them to their championship game. I could see DJ excelling against lower competition. He just doesn't process fast enough mentally or athletic enough to do anything at a top level.

an RPO qb at an elite school be SO BAD at it as our guy.
It blows me away.
BTW …… watch the 2 long Dabo presser clips. ANYBODY that:
1. says our guy isn’t an X’s and O’s guy is a maroon.
and
2. Says he is a cheerleader

we need him for a backup next year. He's a heck of a back up. Then, after losing the job next year and being a backup, he then transfers. We'll have another backup ready.

I think we can all see that DJ's head isn't quite in it. Quite a lot to handle for a 19/20 year old: (Some guys handle family issues better than others.)
-College
-NIL pressure - BTW, this is the worst thing that has happened to CFB, ever. The funneled money from boosters is one thing, but the pressure to perform because of potential future money is way too much for underclassmen.
-Starting QB for a top program.
-Opening with a top 5 matchup and not performing your best. One minor mistake and its a pick 6.
-2 subpar performances.
-By the way, your parents are divorcing, 3 hours away. (I think the divorce may well be the biggest factor in his poor performance.)
Maybe with the divorce past him, he can begin the healing process. Couldn't his parents waited until after the season?
THEY REALLY SHOULD HAVE WAITED!!!!!!!
I am not making excuses for DJ, just looking for reasons for his poor performance.

I really do feel badly for DJ. His face just looks blank all the time on the field. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a QB with less emotion during games. It’s sad.

I feel for him in the sense that I think NIL messed with his head. Remember his presser after the GA game - the only player who showed up in 3-piece suit, jewelry all over, a Fedora and grooming himself during his interview. (Cam N wanta be) That's not the Clemson culture.
IMO he is not going to hit the portal (where?) so spring ball is going to be about fair competition.
As DS say: "next man up".

Geez give it a break and stop trying to run off players. Many on this Clemson “fan” board might want to consider the transfer portal. Players and Recruits and their families do read these boards and seeing the same stupid statements win or lose does not enhance Clemson’s reputation. Why don’t we slow our roll and give the new coaches the off season and spring before we tell THERE players to transfer! Blast away !!!

We’ve had twelve regular season games and a bowl game to observe and form an opinion of DJU’s performance.
Clearly it was below average/poor for the majority of the season. What else do we need to see here ?
If he were at Bama, UGA, or Ohio St his name would be in the portal by noon today.
