Sad news on the passing of Harvey White.

Nov 9, 2021, 5:16 PM

He was the quarterback during most of my time at Clemson. He was held in high esteem as much for his character and academic achievements as for his performance on the football field. May he rest in peace. Condolences and prayers for the family.

Harvey White was the QB for the first Clemson Game I ever attended back in the 1950's. He was a great Tiger!

He finished about the time I was born, but my Dad, who

attended Clemson in the Banks McFadden era, always said Harvey White was one of his favorite Clemson QBs. Even into 1980s, he always said he thought HH could play on any of those teams.

1959 Blue Bonnet Bowl...Clemson 23 - TCU 7...

TCU leading 7-3 with 10:22 remaining he threw a 68 yd TD to Gary Barns and completely turned the game around...got to remember Coach Howard didn't throw much back then
