Sorry if Germans... The hit that Ron Cherry suffered in his last officiating game (Southern Cal vs Notre Dame) was apparently more severe than I (and suspect most folks) realize. He underwent two surgeries to relieve pressure on his brain and had to learn how to balance and walk again on uneven surfaces. Regardless of what you thought of Ron Cherry's officiating - he seems to have genuinely loved being a referee in the ACC and I certainly wish him well in his retirement.
