And didn't I read somewhere that he hadn't attended lots of camps where he would be seen and evaluated? Now off to read the article and see what they say.

How coach Swinney can convince kids like Simmons who live far away from the Carolina foothills to pick up stakes and move to this small college town and develop as a big time player. I can’t recall another player from Kansas ever playing for the Tigers. The coach got two in this class. The number one and two player in the state as I recall. I guess there really is something in these hills.
