in the Danny Ford power option offense. It was already outdated by the late '80s when these fullbacks were running over opposing defenders, but it was fun to watch us wear down the bad guys in the fourth quarter because we were just plain stronger and tougher. Strong man football.

I am a 1979 grad as well. I lived in the upstate from 1983 to 1989 and never missed a game. Tracy Johnson was truly an elite fullback. Cancer is a cruel disease. 46 years old is way too young. I am now finishing my 40th year of practice in family medicine and I pray for a cure every day. Tracy absolutely excelled in Danny Ford’s offense!! Prayers lifted up for his family.

Enjoyed watching him play in person. He wasn't stopped too many times. Very sad news. Cancer has devistated our family the past eight months with two lost, the latest last week. Will remember his family in prayer.
