Trevor vs. Deshaun. Many on here share these sentiments

that Trevor lacked the "IT" factor that Deshaun and Joe Burrow had. There was a thread a while back on here of Trevor vs. Deshaun and Deshaun won by more than 75% of the voters. I just think that's asinine and think maybe so many feel that way because Trevor made it look easy as opposed to Deshaun.
Trevor was Aaron. Deshaun was Mays. Trevor was Aaron Rodgers. Deshaun was Brett Favre. Trevor was Jack. Deshaun was Arnie.
These two had basically the same passing stats. Deshaun had 1000 more rushing yards with over 200 more attempts. Trevor won the ACC 3 times, Deshaun twice. Trevor had 3 CFP appearances, Deshaun 2. Both won one NC game and lost one. Trevor killed Bama. Deshaun beat them in the last few seconds. The big glaring thing for me was the interceptions. Deshaun had 15 more or averaged 5 more per season. Turnovers are so important. That's huge, imo. Add to that based on college careers, Trevor was picked 1, Deshaun 12th. So, I'd clearly take Trevor but it's pretty close.

So, one was Clemson's best QB ever, and the other was the 2nd best and nobody else was close. Not sure which was #1 and which was A, but it really doesn't matter. Just glad they were both at Clemson!

... they were (and still are) brilliant players in their own right.
I’m just so happy that Clemson had both of them.
And I hope we have another one soon!

I think we will have one in Cade. He has the innate ability to read defensive like DeShaun and Trevor or at least by his films and the All Star game. Cade needs to add some weight like DeShaun did when he came in.
As who is the best player, I don’t think one was better than the other. Both were GREAT and I too think we were “Blessed” that the wore the “PAW” and represented Clemson so well.
GO TIGERS!!!!!

Just like Mike/Lebron, Jack/Tiger etc, etc it makes no sense to compare because the teams and the opponents were different. Both were great but honestly, those teams could have won with many different QB's because they were so good. Deshaun won his last game which makes him #1 in my book.

You’re right about it being silly to compare Lebron and Mike. There’s no comparison there. Lebron should never be mentioned in the same breath as Mike.

Compare the QBs each faced in the playoffs...
Deshaun: Baker Mayfield, Jared Coker, JT Barrett, Jalen Hurts
Trevor: Ian Book, Tua Tagovailoa, Justin Fields x 2, Joe Burrow
Trevor was better than Deshaun but he went up against greater competition in the playoffs. I don't think Deshaun elevates us to beat that LSU or Ohio State teams that Trevor lost to.

Let me share my sentiments; Why do people insist on making comparisons like this? Compare stats if you want, but even that is not a true indication of talent or success. They played in different years, faced some teams with better ,or worse talent, had better, or not better talent around them, played in different weather conditions, or maybe never faced the same competition in the regular season or the CFP's. As to which one I would pick I'll flip a coin and take my chances.

I hear what you're saying about the ints. But as Valley pointed out, you have to consider the opponents, the defense we had, and the personnel around each. One thing Trevor tended to do vs DW4 was a reluctance to throw guys open. DW4 was much more inclined to take a chance and throw open his receivers.
Who knows if by coaching or design but Trevor is having a much harder time in the NFL adapting to throwing rec open vs DW4.

Not a bad point, but I would say that DW4 had a little bit of a safety net in Nuk Hopkins for the first few years that TL16 doesn't have in Jacksonville.
Of course, DW4 proved he didn't necessarily need Nuk to continue making plays after he was traded in 2020 but I'm sure having an experienced superstar to throw to helped build on that confidence.

To me that's like asking a Parent which child does he love more. They were both Great, both winners, both won a Natty, and both were great leaders. Both were different, played with different styles, if I were starting an NFL team, I would like to have either of them. My question is why do some people always want to create divisiveness ?

And a ton of great weapons around them. Know who didn’t, but still was an elite college qb? Chad Kelly. He has my vote for best Clemson qb. Second is Deshaun, close third is Trevor.

I love both Trevor vs. Deshaun...
Feb 9, 2022, 5:30 PM

but DW4 was better. He carried the team on his back during the season for two straight years and balled out twice against Alabama in championship games despite them deliberately targeting his head. For whatever reason, Trevor was not sharp and missed a LOT of throws against LSU. That game was more winnable than most people here realize.
If you look at measurements, skillset and upside potential, Trevor definitely has the advantage (except for running ability). But DW4 just did more with what he had while at Clemson.
If you look at the NFL, DW4 went next level as a rookie playing for BOB! 'Nuff said. Trevor will need another year or two to flash superstar potential.

The other big thing was that both got screwed on the Heisman. Granted after DW4--- I kind of stopped worrying about that junk trophy~!

Deshaun was better. I am not sure who has more potential though. Time will tell who does better. If Ii were starting a college team tomorrow I would definitely take Deshaun though.

DW4 was a better QB…

and honestly I can’t rationalize a counter argument. Trevor never cracked 4,000 yds passing in a season, but DW4 did it twice while adding 1,000 yds rushing the first time and 600 yds rushing the 2nd time. Not a knock on Trevor though, he’s still one of my favorite Tigers of all time and the 2nd best QB in program history.

State in 2016. When did someone shutdown Trevor other than elite defenses?
The turnovers make it pretty clearcut to me.
DW4 was awesome, exciting, and clutch, but TL16 was just a little better.

Fwiw, Trevor enjoyed about a 10 pt advantage in the rosters blue chip ratio, but he also had to suffer through the antics of a locker room divider and cancer in KB-
