Brevin Galloway

Hearing that Brevin Galloway wants to come to Clemson and it’s all dependent on if he fits into Brownell’s plan for next season. He wants to be a starter and have a chance to showcase his talent as he’s been hurt for a majority of his college career to this point. He’s having a conversation with Brad tonight. This is the challenge of the transfer portal environment…so much still up in the air. Brevin could be a starter or limited role player depending on if any other transfers commit in the coming days/weeks.

Thanks for the info. He would be a great role player for us. We need somebody a little better than him to be honest. Losing honor/Dawes and only getting him would be a downgrade.
He did light us up this most year.

I don’t see Larry, Magic or Jordan walking through that door. Start the kid and if he plays like crap for an extended period of time…sit him. If he walks so be it.
Got to get some offensive minded players on this team. JMO.

Offense minded?!?

We just got rid of 2 guys who were jacking up an unrealistic number of terrible shots and played ZERO defense. What the Tigers need is someone who can run an offense, make reasonable shots when open and play shut down DEFENSE.

To be fair he hasn’t been healthy since he was a freshman at CoC. I think he has lots of potential, but based on sample size he’s more of an upgraded Hemenway type role player. I’d like to see him get a shot. If you saw his letter about why he’s transferring from BC, you can see that he’s a great kid and isn’t transferring for selfish reasons like so many.

At 6'2"is he an upgrade over the 6'5" Hemmenway in the same role?

Yes, absolutely. He’s much more athletic.

on any given night, but starting or your role on the team can only be about how one earns it. There's some younger guns coming in around his position, but Brad has pressure to win now, so experience.
I hope to see him sporting the Paw next season. Close to home and God's country. What a year.
Go Tigers.

BG's stats from last season for some perspective. Avg 25 mins per game, FGs .308, 3pt .256, 2pt .45. 73.5% of all attempts were behind the arc. 36 assists and 31 TOs. Appears to be a much less effective version of Dawes and Hemenway.

He’s definitely a “chucker.”

He hasn’t met a shot he didn’t like. He can hit the deep threes, but as you noted his percentages aren’t good.
He can get hot, as he did against us, but he can also have plenty of 2-for-10 shooting games.
We know this, if he doesn’t play good defense he won’t get many minutes with Brownell.
