Rest of the 2021 Season

Nobody wanted to be 4-3, and our struggles on offense don't need rehashing. But the season is not over. The playoff and national title are off the table, but many other things are not.
I do not know if the offense will suddenly improve, but I think it is capable of improving over the next five weeks. The rushing defense ranks of our next 5 opponents: FSU 79 Lville 65 UCONN 112 Wake 119 S Car 93
Are the non-UCONN games toss ups? Probably. But I also believe we have the talent and capability of winning them all. Clemson is VERY MUCH alive for the Atlantic Division title. The path is not that far-fetched: Clemson obviously has to win its three remaining ACC games. If that happens and Wake loses to either Duke, NC St, or BC, and NC State drops two of its five left against Lville, FSU, Wake, Syracuse, and UNC, the Tigers win the Atlantic and another crack at Pitt or even potentially UVA. The good news here is Wake and NC State still have to play so one is guaranteed to lose.
Either way, we have a home game Saturday with a lot still left to play for. I hope our crowd is great-I have no reason to believe it won't- and maybe it is the start of a fun last five (or six!) weeks of the season.

Playing those teams with those rushing defense ranks

would be awesome if we ever stuck to the run when it was working. But we don't.
Minus Wake, who I think beats us, I think every game except UCONN is a toss-up at this point.

Wake and Louisville can't be separated. They are essentially the same team in terms of talent level and production.
If you are chalking up Wake as a probable loss then you should do the same for Louisville.
If you are chalking up Louisville as a toss up then you should do the same for Wake.
Both have really good offenses and bad defenses.
The only difference between the two at this point is that Wake has managed to edge their opponent in every single close game. Louisville has split their close games and lost to a top 15 team in Ole Miss that would beat Wake as well.

Amen to that! To paraphrase a coach that I still have a lot of faith in…. We only get 12 of these (games) a year. We should enjoy and make the best of each one. FSU is now the most important game of the year. I know I’ll be in DV Saturday and won’t get my voice back until Tuesday or Wednesday. GO TIGERS!!!

+1 It's actually a scenario where wake beats NC State, loses to anyone else, we then beat wake and all end in a 3 way tie and we win the tie breaker. But all that will take care of itself.
I just want to see improvement each week. Especially in the personnel we know will be returning next season.

The Rest of the season starts Saturday and does not go beyond that until that game is in the books! It has nothing to do with what Wake does, or State does, or anybody else does because we got no say in anything outside of what we do. Clemson choose the path this team went down after the Georgia game. They had ample opportunities to change things on offense, but did nothing. I will not go out on a limb, and say we will win the division. Heck, I won't say we go out and say we win any game left on the schedule. I hope we will improve, but I have seen nothing concrete to think we will. So however the season ends, it starts this Saturday.

We have no say in what Clemson does unless you are on the team or coaching staff.
