With fans at Kansas City booing the “moment of silence for unity”

last night, I wonder how these planned videos and demonstrations are going to fly at Clemson. It seems like people are starting to get fed up with this stuff being crammed down their throats and are now voicing their displeasure.

Depends on what we are unifying for or against. Are we unifying in support of George Floyd who was a rapist fighting cops? Are we unifying against cops? Are we unifying against police unions who protect bad cops? Are we unifying against radicals destroying our cities?

Need to spell out the parameters because if they are unifying for BLM then the boos IMO were warranted. If they were unifying for change and a real open conversation about the main factors taking young black lives count me in.

Floyd wasn't the one accused of sexual assault. You're thinking of the last dude with the kids in the car and possibly a knife.

I believe you are correct. I think Mr. Floyd was the one who assaulted a woman during a robbery...not rape.

Floyd did the home invasion on the pregnant woman. The other guy was the rapist.

if it was about unity but it is not its about black people

That was the tail end of the boo from the Texans(visiting team) running out of the tunnel.

You are the first person I've heard with that take on the booing.

Even ESPN last night considered it to be the fans' first opportunity to boo in 6 months, which is another way of saying "The fans just want to get back to football. "

However, none of those commenting were actually at the game. Doubtlessly they were watching the manipulative pageantry--which a jaded fan base in StL has endured and ignored for several years now--while the fans were only focused on the actual events on the field.

So I'm inclined to accept your version.

However, re. the show, Jason Whitlock at Outkick.com says the NFL used BLM to ruin Christmas for him. But let's ignore him; he's actually a happy Black man.

Most of the fans didn't boo and the place was rocking. The fans had a great time. It was a good game for tv too. There was nothing shoved down anyone's throat. It was mellow and positive. On the other hand, they have an amazing team in KC. I wonder how a junk team like the Jaguars fans will handle it.

We have seen very different things.

I can't imagine something more agreed upon than showing unity. Also I haven't seen unity rammed down our throats anywhere.

What I have seen rammed down our throats are divisiveness, hate, intolerance, and desire for power.

We could use a lot more of groups simply saying "we are together". There were absolutely no statements specifying the unity for some certain group or purpose, just togetherness.

Unity at its basic level is only a positive.

If what happened last night when the players locked arms is all we get from the Clemson/WF game tomorrow night I will be pleasantly surprised.

I actually thought the Chiefs were classy. They locked arms, but almost all of them stood. A good number had their hands over their heart. The Texans apparently couldn't agree on their response, so they stayed in the locker room. It's pretty hard to offend anyone if you aren't even on the field. I thought all in all the Chiefs especially handled this very well. I tuned in with the expectation of being pissed off. I was pleasantly surprised. It was an essentially neutral statement. I suspect more people like me will at least listen to the message while not agreeing with all of it. I then clicked it to The Equalizer.Denzel Washington was totally BA.

It's perfectly fine for somebody to give me a thumbs down if they desire, but at least leave a comment to tell me why you disagree instead of giving the anonymous TD and hiding.

Completely ridiculous to boo that

The players simply linked arms.

The fans should've been grateful they were a part of the 20% who got to attend the game in the first place.
