Replacing Venables from within is a go but I'd go get an outsider if he has to replace Tony.

Why Not Streeter?

He has experience as an Offensive Coordinator already and was successful at calling plays for the Richmond Spiders. He's also Clemson alumni and a very solid coach.

you can't be a Clemson grad and be qualified to coach. Something like that.

Because nothing about this offense or QB play needs to be repeated next year. The only thing I hope we learn from it is what NOT to do

DJ's delivery, head , confidence , rhythm , etc etc.
Ref; Patting/pumping the ball on almost every throw , staring into zones.... None of that was evident last year or on his HS films.

Is he?
The product on the field this past year was...not encouraging. At all.
Streeter's missed on - or completely failed to develop, which might be worse - the last three QB's he's recruited. DJU regressed badly and lost all confidence. Phommanchanh was a complete bust. Bubba Chandler decided to go play baseball instead...which begged the question, why on Earth was Streeter wasting his time and a precious QB slot on a guy who might not even come at all? We're Clemson, we'd just had the #1 pick in the draft, we didn't have to gamble but he gambled anyway. And lost.
Getting what amounts to zero out of a 5-star (DJU), a high-end 4-star who was the #1-rated dual-threat QB in the country for his class (Phommanchanh), and a no-show for your last three QB picks is...bad. Like, dismally bad.
In most professions, Streeter would be out the door. That production certainly will not get him promoted.

I can't think of a Clemson QB that has improved during his time at Clemson since Tajh Boyd. Deshaun, Trevor, and DJ all regressed their 2nd year. Trevor should have had two NCs and a Heisman. We'd had pretty highly ranked QBs come in and look lost.
I'm not saying that's 100% on Streeter, but something has been wrong on the offensive side for years.

why not get Tom Herman. he is in some offensive analyst/special projects role with the Bears. He can recruit the Texas area well.
