Replaced garage door opener yesterday.

As with many household appliances, replacing with the same brand so that all the existing brackets and fittings and braces and mounts and whathaveyas are all roughly compatible, makes a BIG difference in the magnitude of the job. I replaced the same brand of garbage disposal a couple years ago in a legit 25 minutes.
Went from what I assume was the original Chamberlain when muh house was built in 2006, to a sexy new Chamberlain. Didn't mark the wires on the wall remote, or the two corresponding ones connecting to the opener, and not sure it would have mattered anyway since they were blue and blue/white instead of red and white. So basically a couple of coinflips, and magically, it seemed to have worked.
There is no less than FIVE (5) ways to open this garage door now. Wanna hear em? Here it go:
-Wall mount opener -Keypad outside garage door -Garage remote -Car programmed with garage remote -Smart app -your mother
And it has a battery backup, so power goes out, I'm still opening that bitch.

My openers are too new to need replacing, but I have never liked the keypad outside the door. Don't know why; we have keypads on other locks.

Race to see if that or the HVAC die next. About the only two things left original from the builder that have made it 10 years.

Fill out that warranty when you get a new one.

We've replaced two cooling coils (upstairs and down), one blower motor for the gas heat, and something else, forget. BUT, the builder sent in the warranty, so we only paid labor so far on everything that's broken. Warranty has saved us probably 2 grand in repairs (parts).

An extended hanger through the top seal, pull the release, lift the door.
But let’s be honest that’s almost impossible and would take so much time. So I’d just ask your wife to hit the button for me.
“And it has a battery backup, so power goes out, I'm still opening that #####.”

be opened with an app. They're dirt cheap, with a true value of many times that. Absolutely love it. And the auto-close schedule when I forget to shut it is extra sweet. Dodge quite a few bullets leaving the door up all night a few times.
