get to the slopes early and get on the chair to get up the mountain, don't ski/board all the way down to the bottom, instead use mid-mountain chairs to get back up, only ski/board all the way down at the end of your day
on second thought, it may not work at Vail

Front Range resorts won't stop selling lift tickets until the line at the base is 1.5 hours.
Go to the San Juans, you get annoyed if you're not on a chair within a minute or two, and most are ski down and right back on the lift.

mistake #2: went into some areas marked as not avy tested.....aaaaand triggered a little avalanche that got him
helicopters circling and landing all over the place where Park City Resort and Canyons join....we knew it was prob gonna be bad news
