Elliott did a great job of recruiting RB talent

and CJ is doing a great job of developing them. We just need to continue bringing that RB talent in on a consistent basis like numbers 1 - 5 on this list. Go Tigers!

If you want to troll at least get it right. Folks are concerned about 2023 and 2024 as we have already recruited this year.

Which ones? I wouldn't consider #15 "among the best". Just like I wouldn't consider the #15 team in any poll "among the best in the nation"

Totally agree. It also does not bode well that the RB group is expected to be our best offensive unit. If your best unit is 15, your offense isn’t likely to be very good.
That said, this is all preseason mumbo jumbo. Let’s see where we are after we have at least snapped the ball for real a couple of times.

Yeah we didn't run the ball well in 2016

Luckily we had DW4, Williams, Leggett, Scott, and Renfrow.
Our current offensive personnel isn't putting up 400 yards through the air against elite competition like those guys could.
I think it's a very valid point that we need alot more out of our running game to be successful right now. A 2016-level running game isn't going to cut the mustard in 2022.

Couple this with the positive stuff we are hearing about the OLine

(Maybe I’m misremembering but when do we hear good stuff about the OLine in fall camp?), and this RB group would take a lot of pressure off of DJ’s passing. Add in hopefully a healthy, lighter DJ getting some yards with his feet.

The UGA game would have been an easy WIN if Will Shipley was not playing his first ever collegiate game. End of Story. This season is about to be special.

An efficient passing game and QB who can run will really

open things up for those guys to be more explosive. That threat creates hesitation for the defense. We now have a QB on the roster who was fast and accurate in high school and appears to have added 15 pounds of muscle. At 6'2.5" and 200 pounds(Heisman winner and NC starter was barely 6' 194), he's probably a bit faster and more explosive than he was in high school.
Look for Phillip Mafah to have a big year. He looked big and fast last year and didn't get many opportunities. Now, with a ton of work in the Spring, he should be poised to unleash the talent on unsuspecting defenses.

Mafah is, as I have previously posted, a fire hydrant in disguise. I didn't coin the phrase, his high school principle said that to me. Have you ever seen someone try to tackle a fire hydrant?

Call me crazy but,...

Saying "there's quality depth with Kobe Pace and Phil Mafah" is a bit of a slap in the face to those 2 guys.
I don't think anyone would disagree that Shipley is the leader in the room, but those 2 guys are monsters and would start on most other teams. This is actually the deepest RB room we've had in a long time.

Based upon what is it without question that Shipley is a "leader" in the room? I have no idea the dynamics in the RB room so I don't know. Just wondering how others do.

The coaching staff has chosen Shipley to be one of the principal voices of the offense/team, even as a true freshman. He made bold claims and backed them up, aka FSU last year. The public has seen him as a leader off the field in volunteering and raising money for various causes, etc. He clearly is a leader, and we've been able to observe it publicly. Again, the coaching staff chose a true freshman to be a vocal leader to the media/public, etc. I'd say we have enough evidence to conclude he is a leader amongst the RBs as well.

The best RB room in the ACC?
And some posters thought it was crazy to say we didn’t?
And I said Syracuse and Sean Tucker might be better?
Pepperidge Farm remembers.
