Dabo got a lot of positive press for taking a pay cut to give more money to his coordinators (pretty sure it was BV and Morris at the time)? It was a good move, as it appeared to be Dabo putting the success of his program ahead of his own personal gain. The AD had a fixed amount of money allocated for coaching salaries, and Dabo moved it around to get the best coordinators he could, even if it cost him.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm seriously thinking at this point that Dabo intentionally cheaped out with his current coordinators so he could get himself to $10M/year by giving unproven coordinators a smaller amount of that coaching salary allocation.

Change my mind.

Because our football expenditures went down in 2020 and 2021. They’ll go down even more in 2022. There is plenty of room in his budget to hire whoever he wants. This was strategy implemented long before last season’s turnover. If he chooses to abandon it budget will not be a major consideration.
