2011 was our best year in a LONG time
We were coming off a terrible loss to USF, 6-7 year.
What was different?
THE STAFF:
-Napier
-Brad Scott
-Chris Rumph
-Coach Vic
And then Dabo was the closer
Those 5 carried us.
I"m not saying our coaches now are poor recruiters, but clearly their not as talented as that group.
Chad is a GREAT coach, but GOOD - PRETTY GOOD recruiter. Chad will get the QB he wants (Kelly, Watson), but we lost out on some pretty good position players (Gurley, Marshall, etc.)
Brent can be a GOOD coach, but as of right now, no ties to the area and hasn't really brought in anybody
Caldwell allegedly a GOOD coach, GOOD recruiter, but not in Brad Scott class re: recruiting
Hobby is a step below Rumph, clearly.
Napier, for all his offensive coordinator deficiencies , could RECRUIT big time.
Just think that Dabo has to compete against ESPN, SEC, AJC, KornCoot, Chad is leaving rhetoric, it's just gotten TOUGHER for him and Jeff Scott to carry this.
Mike Reed may be a GOOD coach but at best appears to be only a GOOD or average recruiter...didn't care for the hire from a recruiting POV.
We may have to roll the dice on a guy like Coach Trooper, with all his baggage b/c the guy relates to these kids.

People just have to realize that we aren't going to get everyone we want. It isn't anyones fault just that we can't have have all of them. Hopefully we will pick up a few more good ones to finish with but if we don't then we will just have to do with what we've got. Being honest with the recruits and hope they will want to come. In the long run having tweny something recruits and losing some of them is worse than having fifteen who have bought into the program. Go Tigers, Go Dabo
