Recruiting a top QB that’s a pocket passer

Oct 24, 2021, 7:17 PM

Why Clemson decided a pocket passer was a great fit for a traditional spread offense. It’s sad a guy like DJ is stuck with a small OL that’s a good fit for a mobile QB but not big/strong enough to create and sustain a pocket for DJ.

Why was Justin Fields not successful at Georgia. He was a mobile QB behind a huge but not very mobile IL.

Transfers to a spread offense and looked like a QB1.

I am just the opposite because I think part of our problem is the line is too big and too slow but you are right our QBs are not going to run all over the field.

I been saying this to the family for a while, I don’t think DJ is a good fit for an RPO driven offense. And not sure I have seen him scramble out of the pocket this year like TL could extend plays with his legs. So I agree with you.
