Rebounding still a main focus

Even with PJ Hall returning, I still wish we had a true big man and allow Hall to play more of a stretch 4 roll. Rebounding and giving up 2nd chance points was the achilles heel last season, hopefully they figure something out. Most team will be bigger than us down low. Other than that, offensively we should be more explosive with the added transfers.

play Ben MIddlebrooks at his natural 5 spot. That would be too crazy. They won't let you play TWO 6'10" guys at the same time.
Instead, you've got to run Middlebrooks off so the Charles Barkley-esque Ian Scheffelin can keep starting. That is if Schef could run his mouth or jump, either one.

Has it occurred to anyone that Hall (Mr. I decide who coaches Clemson) is dictating that don’t put a proper center on the court with him?

Sigh, how long has it been since we have had a true center at Clemson? Not the 6'8 or 6'9 guys, but a real center. One that can shoot, rebound and play defense?

Awhile. But Brad isn’t afraid of the portal. There were some good options the last two years. I’m unaware of any being on the list of players we solicited. So, Brad can’t get a center to come to Clemson or Brad doesn’t think an offense needs one? Because his backer tell is that we shouldn’t judge the totality of his resume. Just the seasons back to the Sweet Sixteen year. So why, in his new golden age and with the relatively new “portal” that he is adept at using do we still avoid a proper center?

but he ain't going to be a 5 at the next level, even probably if he plays in Europe. He simply doesn't have enough lower body strength or lift to play the 5 in the NBA. He's not bad athletically, but geez, you're talking about a league full of Athletic unicorns there. For chrissakes, Durant is 7 foot and he effectively plays the wing a lot of times. I'm not necessarily sold on PJ's inside moves anyway. Nice moves for the college game, but that's about it.
If I were PJ, I'd be looking for as many minutes as I could get as a roving 4, which is why I suggested UNCheat.
He should look at what they did last year with Filipowski and Ryan Young. Duke was really tough to handle on the offensive end when they played those guys together.

This team will NOT improve at all over last year if they do not get better inside big man coaching and scheming that will work for all those times in which our outside shooting is off! We did NOT have an effective inside game last year for all those poor outside shooting nights!!!!

We could have Shaq or the Admiral down low and it wouldn’t matter. You can’t rebound anything when you are running away from the basket every time the ball goes into the air. That’s coaching.
