Really guys...?

The things that Dabo has done are amazing! He has brought this program back to being nationally relative, the first ACC championship in 20 years, he brought us back to the orange bowl, he beat Auburn, LSU, and Georgia, first out of conference team to beat top 10 SEC teams, he has been an unbelievable ambassador for this program, and has consistently recruited among the top in the nation...

The fact that y'all are turning on his is ####### disgusting! An 11-2 record under Tommy Bowden would have been ####### stupendous! An 11-2 record is what Coach Swinney is making the normal! Show some ####### respect for the man who saved Clemson... Without him we'd just be another Nebraska, a team clinging on their rich history...
Stay classy guys, the true tigers will show...

Same old crap from guys like you.

We are out coached, out played virtually every time in big games.

Dabo had the "deer in the headlight look" from the beginning.

Chad's offense can't play the game against Slurrier.

Coots own us and it stinks!

and our tigers lost they would call for his head. It baffles the mind some take football "fandom" to the extreme (of course we all know there are some in every bunch). If my beloved tigers win or lose it has no bearing on my paycheck...my sleep...my health...my fishing excursions...

I live not to worry about the things I cannot control. It makes life so much easier. The one thing I am thankful for and take very seriously is the freedom to watch my tigers play.

Some of these guys need to step away from the ledge...suck it up and deal...and, they need to get a life.

I hate it! Who's to blame? Coaches? Players? I don't know, but I'm kinda glad to see a new group in next year. I love Boyd, but he's awful against the Coots. Looking forward to what Cole or Kelly can do against them. Has to be better then Boyd, right? I freaking hope so.

I doubt it.

There's a reason Boyd was the starter…

Luckily Clowney will be gone, but Clemson needs to recruit an elite QB that produces under pressure.

Hopefully Watson is that QB...

We definately will not be hurting at QB. Wish Tajh all

Sorry to be so realistic but this game is not about nice guys, it's about winning. Absent one pass against SU we probably don't win that game. Our OC has a plan that kis great against undermanned teams but not solid enough against top teams. Our DC is clueless from a strategic point. He had to know that if we stop Shaw we win. Everyone else knew. Apparently some of you did not see the lack of organization in our d, our lack of ability to stop A BASIC PLAY THE QB DRAW. I could go on for pages but when Venables came here many people familiar with him said he would help the defense get some better (and it has against weak teams) but he does not set an aggressive, bordering on mean, hard hitting D. Sorry to rain on your parade but those are the facts and it hurts me to say it but it is time to clean house!

Clean house!?
What a dumb--- comment!!!!
You are clueless.
You obviously have never played or coached the game.
You obviously just recently jumped on the Clemson bandwagon and forgot about the past 20+ years. Where are we at now!? Answer: LIGHT YEARS ahead with Dabo and Co. We are NOW a consistent top 10-15 team. Losing some, yes, but winning some too against top 10 teams. Prior to him we were lucky to finish 24 or 25. Lucky!
Clean house!?
You are so clueless.
Don't quit your day job.....

You're right, Dabo has done a heck of a job. I disagree with you that we are nationally relevant. If we were, why wasn't the game tonight a bigger story? I just think that with Dabo, we'll continue to win 10 or so games a year, losing the SCAR, FSU, and the occasional top ten team we schedule, but we probably won't be a serious player in the national picture.

Nov 30, 2013, 11:24 PM

yes really. he beat LSU and UGA back to back. Les is a bigger clown than Dabo and UGA has been trying to run Richt out for years for being a terrible gameday coach. So there - Dabo has beat 2 of the most talented teams in the country with 2 of the worst game day coaches alive. Other than that, we out talent everyone or LOSE. He is a good recruiter but thats asking alot to outrecruit every team in the country and also out coach them.

Re: Nebraska not really a good comparison.

Dec 2, 2013, 3:16 PM

Nebraska is much more like Tennessee. They don't have a good instate recruiting bases and relied heavily on neighboring states for recruits, such as Texas, Mizzou, Oklahoma and some West Coast States. Once they pulled out of the Big 12, they left all that behind and are now reliant on the Midwestern states such as Ohio, Indiana and Illinois for there recruits and whatever they can get from the west coast and Florida. Gonna take a heck of a recruiter to turn Nebraska around.

Re: Really guys...?

Dec 2, 2013, 4:33 PM

I do not or will not disparage Dabo. Having said that, his OC and DC are way over their heads. I listened to 104.9- Road Rage with Walt Deptula this afternoon and he said simply: Morris refused to see the handwriting on the wall and run the ball with McDowell the whole second half. If they can't stop the run--and SC could not--keep running until they do. Morris is intent on this play count offense, high risk stuff which is fine against overmatched teams but will not win against the good teams. He apparently can't see that. His call in the first call was atrocious in giving the ball to Sammy--last time I checked he's not a QB--instead of continuing with the running game and possession type passes.
AS for Venables, he should be gone today. To say that we tried every way to stop Shaw is an insult to my intelligence. He is paid big bucks and when faced with a key game he should have said: who on that team can beat us today, has beaten us in the past and how do I prevent that player from beating us. He's paid big bucks and he should know how to corner Shaw. It is not rocket science and should have occurred. Maybe someone else beats us but not him.
These 2 need to go but if Dabo wants them for another year he needs to make it perfectly clear what changes he expects. If they occur great, if not they are gone end of next year.
It really is simple but most on this board have never coached at a high level and I guarantee that if they had this simple concept would be the only way to go. We pushed that team around on both lines of scrimmage and due to poor, very poor coaching by Morris and Venables we lost.
