Kind of like the whole debate over Gabby Petito. She gets more attention because missing pretty white girls get more hits, clicks, and views. It's not really about the race. It's the data that shows the public cares about it.

So is that the whole reason black people getting shot by cops are always front page news stories? Are what about black on black crime that never gets covered?
It's almost like mainstream media only report for clicks. It's almost like they are the enemy of the people.

Yep, a black person getting shot by cops usually gets more attention from the public than a white person.
And no, citizen on citizen crime isn't the same.
Black on black crime gets reported every day in your local paper. So do all the stupid stories y'all post that say, "Ooo, look, black person attacking white person cause I'm scared of black people!"
You're surprised the news media, which are private businesses, focus more on stories that attract more of the public interest, viewership, and readership? They've been doing that since their invention. They give the people what they want. You contribute to it as well. Yes, you do. Yes. You do. You're one of the fools who falls for it every day. Fox does it to you easily.

You're the same person that says there's no correlation between BLM being in the media during election years. Did police stop shooting people after Biden was elected, or did the media stop covering it? You are so incredibly naive.

Are you really trying to tell me the media don't cover shootings of black people during non-election years? Really?

I agree with your sentiment here

but I disagree with the stance that it's all organic or purely market driven. A lot of content and opinions and narratives are pushed on the masses.
Not saying it's 100% engineered, just trying to make a point that there's some push from the media conglomerates that often times feels coordinated. That in turn generates clicks and the whole thing snowballs.

They're not all talking to each other. They're competing with each other. CNN doesn't want to work with MSNBC. They're a competitor. NY Times isn't trying to buddy up with WaPo.
These folks are operating on years and years and years of data and focus studies. They know what readers want. The most important question a journalist has to ask before pursuing a story is "Who cares?" And that question drives the content.

Makes more sense that they have a similar clientele

And that's why they have similar content, not that they're coordinating. That wouldn't make sense from a capitalistic perspective.

So you're saying it's 100% organically market driven?

I think the probability of that happening is the same as the probability that it's all coordinated...0%. I agree they don't all talk, nor do they sit in some room and coordinate what happens everyday...that's not the point I'm trying to make.
There is a level of coordination though. These firms are the two highest % owned of institutional investors.
NWSA (100.34% owned by institutional investors, largest of any publication / news company): - Vanguard - 12.8% - ~$1.13B - BlackRock - 6.4% - ~$560M - SSgA - 4.68% - ~$411M
CMCSA (85.02% owned by institutional investors): - Vanguard - 8.14% - ~$22B - BlackRock - 4.17% - ~$11.6B - SSgA - 3.73% - ~$10.4B

As an experiment, perhaps try reading the New York Times and Wall Street Journal and think of what is the middle of those. The first thing you'll find is how much less insanity you experience in your news-gathering.

Access to reality is worth it. And it's not expensive in the slightest. NY Times has an introductory $1/week rate, and then it goes up to $4/week. If you really can't afford it, I'll pay for a year's subscription for you.

what's going on in the world here, than on any of those websites. You get both "sides," and people shooting holes in both, so you actually do get a balanced look, if you're looking for one.

I agree that most politicians are narcissistic, but I do not recall one as thin skinned and petty as Trump. He demands 100% loyalty and if that is not granted he would rather punish the party at large just to take down an individual who does not kiss the ring.
I voted for him in 2020, but the guy takes being all about himself to another level.

Name one other POTUS who organized a capital riot because they didn't like the results of an election. That's me, me, me many levels higher than anything we've seen before. It would be nice for the GOP to reject this cult leader and go back to being a rational political party.

Did he though?
A self pity party rally for his loss and rhetoric is what happened.
He didn’t organize an attempted coup, insurrection or riot

Gee whiz, shut up. He didn't organize it, he didn't stoke it. What you are saying is simply not true. Find a video, post it, and we will all shut up.

I've already proven it. I've posted the tweets telling everyone to be there. I've posted the video of him telling them to March on down to the Capital. Of course he did lie when he said he was going to be there with them. I guess the bone spurs flared up.

It doesn't matter if you vote for the one who tells you what you want to hear, or hate to hear. You end up in the same place. Bad leadership.

I agree with this. Go away Trump. You are damaged goods. Just enjoy the rest of your life being rich and leave politics alone.
