I don't know how sharing the unconditional Love of Jesus with young men could be wrong.
Why do you think we have a family atmosphere when our recruits come with mom and dad?
Because our coaches are men of principles and unconditional love. It doesn't mean they will win more but living with the unconditional love of Jesus is contagious.
Family values grounded in the Love of Jesus are far more valuable than the football program alone.
When love is involved the players cheer each other on and share wisdom they have learned with one another.
They treat each other like family. If someone messes up they still love them unconditionally.
Perry has led many through his church and ministry to Jesus. I'm sure he sins just like the rest of us but he does show love and compassion for others and he is passionate about the Great News of Jesus.
Go Tigers! Hope you all find Jesus and you strive to be the best team possible on the field.
The name Jesus makes others mad because there is complete freedom from sin in it and folks love to hang on to sin.

Just like most don't believe you have to go to church every Sunday (or at all) to get in to heaven.
Don't make assumptions of an entire group of people based off a few extremists.

It's wrong when you have someone who waters down the gospel and he just has people pray a prayer and tell them their saved, while they just go live their same old life style. Sinners prayer that is found nowhere in scripture

That would be wrong but Perry and Newspring do NOT preach a watered down gospel. They preach a commitment to knowing and following Jesus. And a understanding that he paid the price for your sins. If you accept that and follow him, you will be saved.

The message can be the same yet without forcing any "ideas" and/or "beliefs" on someone who doesn't share those ideas and beliefs.

I wonder if you've attended the church where he preaches. I am a member elsewhere, but I have visited his church with friends on several occasions. You may prefer a different type of worship service. That is fine. You may prefer a different, more expository style of preaching. That is fine. Maybe you like more traditional music. Again, fine. But to say this man is a "false teacher" or that he promotes a "watered down" gospel is a lie. A complete lie.

Bryan Tiger I don't want to argue with you but there are many scriptures that will answer this for you if you are wanting an answer and not to argue the point. one example that should be real easy to understand that it is a matter of believing and having faith the Jesus is the Christ.
Then he said to Jesus, "Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom." And Jesus said to him, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise." Luke 23:39-43

Go online and you can watch any series of Ministry from the Church he has been blessed to preach at.
It's NewSpring Church.com media archives.
It may not look like your Daddy's church but it is a church that loves Jesus. No perfect people in that church and if you go and your perfect you'll mess it up. Young believers in Christ that have never been to church are going to take time to grow. Is the business of young believers messy? You bet they are. I challenge you to find a church with a body with as many young believers. Unreal how many folks have asked for forgiveness and accepted Jesus into there life there. I've never heard of any church have as many get saved and baptized as Newspring in the last few years.
I live in North Carolina and grew up as a ministers son in Iva, SC. But I have not lived in SC since college in the early 90's.
I was taught old school Church the old songs and the King James only church. I still love that church and those folks but I had to study an see exactly what the bible said about many things I had been taught. Crazy thing happened when I realized that many things were church traditions or rules and not in the word of God. In the book of Revelation there were 12 churches that God had a message for. They all served in a different way and had different gifts but all were a part of the body of Christ. We should be very careful when putting God in a box that we like instead of realizing that he is Great beyond our imagination. His gifts and ways are Heavenly and ours are earthly. Because you don't go to my church or do it my way doesn't put me in a place of judgement over others who worship or serve different than I. The ocean is full of God's beautiful designs because he is the most awesome creator. In the same way he gifts His church in different ways to bring people to Jesus and to serve in His purpose and glory.
Not sure why some people don't like Perry from the sermons I've heard but that is your choice whether it is the ten percent tithes(Most churches use this standard) or the way he dresses(I challenge you to find that anywhere in the bible) or the music (that over the last 400 years has changed many times with folks balking at it each time lol) or the unsaved folks coming and finding Jesus at a rate that is unlike anything we have seen in our lifetime. That he can't visit His members in the hospital with twenty thousand members. That's like saying Dabo didn't even speak to me at the Clemson game or fans day. lol
From hearing His podcast I know he has been a passionate Clemson fan for many years.
If we got all of us Clemson friends together and we asked who was a Jesus believer most of the guys would say me but all of us would have different ways of worshiping, praying, singing, and understanding God's word.
I would never put Perry on a pedestal because he fails and sins just like the rest of us. I do believe from hearing him that he is gifted to be a minister of God that loves Jesus and preaches His word.
Calling Him a False Prophet is something I would never do. But if you feel that way I still love ya Bro! I know Perry would too.

This is a lawsuit waiting to happen...

Last time I checked Clemson was still a state supported school, and the establishment clause still applies. Not saying I agree, but facts are facts.
It's similar to when Shannon Faulkner sued my alma matter. I thought it would change the school and didn't like it, but as a constitutionalist I could see where she had a right to attend.

to the lawsuit brought against our school in the 1990's. That lawsuit was based upon equal access. There are no equal access issues with inviting a local Pastor on a trip with the team or granting him access to the team by the coach. The coach did not exclude other pastors...he simply invited him.

Why would you think a football coach is very wise on religious matter? I don't know if Dabo is or isn't wiser than most here on religion but that seems like a weird assumption.

Not doubting his testimony at all but to say he is wiser on these matters than probably just about anyone on this board strikes me as strange. I would assume there were people here who are probably very wise on these matters. I also assume many of them were at this time wiser than Dabo just because he's still a fairly young man and hasn't had as much time to grow as many older Christians. I don't mean this in any way as a knock on Dabo. Just found it to be a weird claim.
