Realistic thoughts for next week.
Oct 13, 2013, 1:19 AM
|
|
Do you guys think we can beat Fl St. with the way we played today (minus the fumbles) or do we need to have some great new unseen plays? I personally am afraid fsu will stop our run game in the beginning and then will put enough pressure on Tajh to get our guys frustrated and go several 3 and outs.
I'm not trying to be a Debbie downer, I'm just worried about next week and I'm hoping we see some fireworks. Thoughts?

My thought is that it is awesome to be here. Really and truly big time now. For so long we thought we were, almost were, but weren't. We are now.

Our offense and defense had better be hitting on all cylinders. If we play like we did today on offense, it will be a long night in the Valley.

Agreed. I think fsu is the real deal and will come in mad because we have been the ACC favorite since before the start of the season. We better be 100%.

Hard to say

Our secondary is doing a good job of covering people, but we've not faced a set of WR's like we're about to face. They've not faced a front 7 as good as ours either. Offensively we need to get the O line figured out quickly. FSU is going to bring pressure constantly. The key in this game is going to be the crowd and whether or not we can get into Jameis' head. If we can rattle him on the field as well as in the stands we should win.

quickly is better blocking on the corners. Don't know why no TE blocks worth a flip. But I doubt we will all of a sudden transform the O line. They could be motivated to play their best, but I doubt it will keep all of the pressure off Boyd. He will be in scramble mode most of the game. But he's been doing that all season, especially against NCSU. And so far he's been pretty good at getting balls of and not turning it over. The question will be how well FSU secondary keeps his options limited.

Did we beat a Healthy UGA team on August 31? People act like its the end of the world cause we had a bad game, lets be thankful FSU wasnt on the field today because we probably would have got stomped, and lets hope they were looking ahead and will bhave the right mindset going into

Play like we did today on offense, and you will have more than several 3 and outs. Just my opinion, but regardless of what Dabo said ,or the coaches said,or the players said( or thought) we were "looking ahead".
Either that,or we are not as good offensively as advertised because we stunk up the first half and a good bit of the 2nd. I just hope we aren't looking ahead to Maryland.

The fans didn't have the energy either at this game until the second half. I though Boyd was locking in on receivers instead of looking across the field. He was making the hard pass instead of hitting the wide open receiver. You have to give BC credit. They were ready to play! They threw the book at us and we moved the ball in the first half, but we botched the opening fg and were plagued by holding no calls all day long. We will be a little more excited next week and focused to the max.

Once again, do not cloak your fear or your attempt to lower the Sons of Clemson into a morass of negative energy by claiming such a stance is "realistic."
It's not realism. It's fear. You may live in fear or you may rise above whatever insecurities you keep boxed within your soul.
This is not going to be a game for the weak, for the insecure, for the "realist." This is what we were put on this planet for.
Claim your destiny as a Son of Clemson or step aside.

Consistent on both sides. If we get such biased calls/non-calls again next Sat, you will know something else is up.
ACC has the worst officiating of all the big conferences. Unbelievable.

Only way we can win this game is to secure the ball! Bc should have been up 21 or more at halftime. If anything tiger fans need to understand that FSU is better than UGA. This is the last time Tajh gets a shot at FSU and with that, he will be dialed in. Our D is getting better and better. This is the first time our offense came out flat and I agree with most of you that they were looking ahead. Get ready for some big plays from FSU, their QB is the real deal guys no way around it, but he is untested. This game will definitely be talked about for years to come. Heres to a healthy great game, welcome to DV Jameis! Give us your best shot!

Realistically it will be a great game next week against 2 Top 10 teams. This is a match up that the ACC has been waiting for for a long time to change the perception of the league. This is the match they thought would be between FSU and Miami year in and year out when the U joined the league.
With all of that said... just look at the match ups of both teams against BC
Clemson: 496 Total yds FSU: 489 Total yds 334 passing 330 passing 162 rushing 156 rushing 0 INT 1 INT 4 Fumbles [2 loss] 0 Fumbles Defense 286 Allowed yards 397 Allowed yards 192 passing 197 passing 94 rushing 200 rushing 5 sacks 4 sacks 12 1st downs allowed 22 1st downs allowed
It should be a great game...I'm looking forward to it and i'm glad it's at 8p b/c i would have missed it if it came on at Noon or 3:30p considering i would be at work.

Have we be come so spoiled that if the Tigers don't score every series something is wrong. The Tigers are earning everyone's "A" game. I expect FSU will bring it. Let the Coaches coach, let the Players play, and let Us rock the Valley! BTW too much stress is unhealthy.

scored 35. FSU is at least as good, but our deense may be a little better than it was opening day. But, FSU will be better at stopping our offense than a suspect GEorgia defense was. Therefore our defense will be on the field more. I say FSU scores 41. FSU's defense is probably better than any defense we have played and we have not only had one game of scoring 26 against a very bad opponent, but we have had a game of scoring 24 against a decent opponent. I say we may score 23.
Unfortunately, I think we lose 40 something to 20 something. I will say 41-23. It is unfortunate that with FSU in the division, it is very hard to get a division title this year, but hey, Miami and VA Tech are in the other division, not to mention GT. Anyway, I think am proud of this team.
ANy team that can get 9 or 10 regualry season wins and at least a 10th win after the bowls and come within a game of the division title, say either win it, or lose it to FSU, then I can't complain. These players work hard and so do the coaches and we have had two great seasons in a row and this is the third. It is simply not easy to get to 6-0 in college football.
I think because of the BC game and NC State games, I am pretty realistic about the FSU game. Kind of bad luck that they lose Manuel and then replace him with a true freshman that is even better. Hope he only stays two more years.
Go Tigers. I was at the game yesterday and I thank the Tigers for hanging in there and pulling out the win. IT was a tough day at the office for them, but they got the job done. I had a great time and was thrilled with the win. I would hae been happy with a 1-point win, especially midway through the third quarter.
Go Tigers!

Our main problem was our offense and special teams mistakes. Take away the mistakes and we would've won by 20+.
We still put up almost 500 yards. We held them to 286. I think we played a really solid game. We just need to stop with the fumbles and the mental errors.
I think that was an effect of the Fl State game next week and also the fact that BC just flat out came to play.
