Real solution to conference

Jul 2, 2022, 1:10 PM

There have been many suggestions on how to have the ACC remain competitive. The one that I have seen that makes the most sense is to make the payouts relative to the teams...in other words, the better teams get more money than the lower teams. That would make the ACC more appealing to ND (an maybe a few others).

What I have not seen is the correct way to determine what that cut should be...It should not be subjective! It is the opinion of many that ND is the big fish, thus should get a larger cut! I don't agree, because it is an opinion...opinions do not need to be made...

It really is simple...At the end of each sport season (football, soccer, Baseball, etc), the ACC determines how much money each team brings in to the conference, then they distribute the money by each teams proportional production. If Clemson brings in one fourth of the revenue due to playoff participation, they get one fourth of the revenue. To sell it to other, lesser schools, the ACC could take 10-15% of the top, then distribute by proportion of what is left. Each school, including Clemson, would then get equal cuts of the 10-15%.

This would keep the producing schools in the conference, and incentivize the other schools to produce.
