Absolutely makes sense. DW4 may be a short-term problematic addition to the Eagles, but he remains a valuable commodity on the field. Buy low. Philadelphia is an upgrade to Houston owners. They want to win now. DW4 with a little help can own Dallas, Washington and Giants. All NFC East teams are improving, and it could soon be a respectable division. Move would be a win-win and DW4 will recalibrate his modus operandi.

DW4 will probably stay put with the Texans, but if the Eagles come up with the picks and money, he will be playing for the boo birds......

The second Deshaun gets traded to the Eagles...watch all this go away, IMHO.
Deshaun will not settle, or not for much, anyhow. If he was inclined to pay for silence, he was going to settle early, before damage happened to his reputation. That damage has long-since been done.
He wouldn't pay. That speaks volumes.
And yet these lawsuits continue, fed by Tony Buzbee...who just happens to be none other than the neighbor of...(drum roll) Cal McNair, the embattled CEO of the Houston Texans. Who was looking all sorts of stupid for his handling of the team after inheriting control of from his late father Robert two years ago. Who was seeing articles like this start to pop up, and was the talk of Houston, and not in a good way:

Tony Buzbee, ambulance chaser extraordinaire, is not doing this for free. These women suing Watson are not doing this for free. And again...Deshaun wouldn't pay. And likely won't.

For those slow on the uptake, I will give everybody three guesses who benefits most from having the goat horns placed on Deshaun Watson's head. (And the first two guesses don't count.)

How do the Texans benefit from this happening to Watson? If they end up trading him anyway, then you'd have to assume the return value in a trade involving Watson will be lower than it would've been without any of this happening. So again, how exactly would this benefit the Texans?
Also, you say the Texans owner is neighbors with the attorney, but has anyone confirmed that they actually know each other? It's my understanding that they live in the same neighborhood, but that certainly doesn't show that they have any sort of relationship with each other. I have hundreds of other people who live in my neighborhood, and I happen to know about 5 of them.

Where did I say the "Texans" benefit? They don't. But the "Texans" haven't benefitted from a whole bunch of the crap Cal McNair has done. The dude has lurched from bad move to bad move pretty much since the moment he took over in 2018. And it was getting him talked about. A lot.
Cal doesn't own the team either. His mom Janice does; she inherited it from her late husband Robert. He's merely the CEO, operating it in her stead.
This suggests a very obvious motive for getting the spotlight out of Cal's face...and making somebody else the bad guy for a change. Because Cal, frankly, has made a complete mess of things since he's taken over as CEO. People were not talking about him fondly, there in Houston.
Or maybe Buzbee just is a charitable guy who's genuinely looking out for vulnerable women. I dunno. Read up on him. His bio includes suing the crap out of oil rigs for the Deepwater Horizon disaster, unsuccessfully running for both the Texas House and for the mayor of Houston, and oh, yeah, getting caught using doctored fake video in a political ad. To call his past "checkered" is putting it mildly.

Buzzardbee don't give a flying chit about women, he would sell his own mother out for a small profit. There isn't any doubt in my mind that Buzzardbee went to those massage parlors searching for women that would lie on DW4 for a promised sum from the Buzzard. And the Buzzard did this for his Texan friends only bc DW4 no longer wanted to take the punishment he was getting playing for a team that wasn't going anywhere, and the only reason the Texan fans continued to buy Tickets was to see the magic that DW4 brought to their team that the feathered buzzards was flying over. And with DW4 wanting to leave, the Texan people got themselves a human Buzzard to try and take DW4 down only bc he wasn't going to get his body beat up anymore for a team where the management done nothing but lied to him.
What sickens me even more than what the Texan management has plotted to do to DW4 for the only reason of making DW4 suffer, is the ones in our orange fan base that has turned on DW4 without one single shred of evidence presented in a criminal court of law, that would never prove him guilty of a crime against that trash. The only reason that Buzzardbee has taken his claims to a civil court, is bc he knows his hookers claims wouldn't stand up in a criminal court of law, and that's bc he has offered to pay for their lies where no harm will come to them telling their lies in a civil court.
And even if DW4 made a counter suit, he knows that he would get nothing bc those hookers don't have nothing, and DW4 would be out of even more money by counter suing trash that don't have a pot to pisss in, or a window to throw it out of!!!! The biggest winner will be the Texans bc they will have succeeded in tarnishing a good young man's name that has already been accomplished even if we never hear another word about the lies that the Texans has paid to that f-ing Buzzard to buy the lies being told by low class trash that will also profit from their lies.
If it all ended this very minute, DW4 will have this ######## attached to him for the rest of his NFL career, and it's all bc the Texans management never intended to live up to the agreements they made to DW4, and he wanted to leave to improve his chances of winning a super bowl like QBs with his kind of talent usually do before their careers end. There is no doubt in my mind that DW4 is a super bowl type of QB, on a team with talent just close to having the talent that DW4 has!!!! Personally, I wouldn't care if he pulled his tallywacker on all 20 of those women, bc working a job where they are massaging a naked man with just a towel over him, they know before ever starting the massage that things like that are more likely to happen, than not. I still love DW4 for everything that he helped out Tigers to achieve, and for the NC win 2016, that helped to lead to another NC by TL in 2018. So even if he did get excited with getting a massaged in his tool shed, oh well, he is a man that can still get his battery charged!!!!

Your theory: The lawyer went parlor to parlor with a pic of DW, probably had to explain to many of the women who don't follow football who the pic was, and ask them if they'd be willing to lie about it.
The lawyer produced false communication (texts) between DW and the women. The texts are so well crafted that not even DW nor his lawyer deny their veracity. In other words, the texts are so convincing that even DW believes them.
This is all so convincing that DW's attorney offerred this genius legal advice: "Deshaun, these allegations are troubling and hurting your image. Now they have these fabricated texts. Despite the fact that all this is made up lies, and you never did anything questionable, in fact, you don't even know these womene...my legal advice is to continue to deny wrongdoing but you admit to consensual sex with some of them."

Amazing luck on part of the Texans to frame Watson this way and it just so happens to include women he admits to having sex with. You’d think they would’ve been women he never even met before since they completely made this whole thing up.
Also seems very risky on their part to frame him with over 20 women and risk having at least one of those women come out and reveal that they were paid by the Texans to lie about Watson assaulting them.
Seems even more odd that the attorney risked the whole thing never going public to begin with by offering Watson a deal before it all went public.

Their biggest asset will be the next victim they draft to come in, and suffer the punishment that will come without an O line and reliable receivers to throw the ball to. When DW4 ask to be traded, he was finished with the Texans and their BS, and they knew it. And yes, I surely believe that it is possible that they had something to do with the accusations against DW4. We all seen what they will do with the top receiver in the NFL when he challenged their BS where he was concerned, and they didn't give it a second thought of how DW4 felt about them trading one of his most trusted receivers. They didn't give a chit about Nuk, nor DW4, and they have more than proved it!!!!! If that makes me stupid, then I'm not alone, and neither are you!!!!

You act like billionaires - especially billionaires' sons - are rational human beings. I haven't seen that...like, ever.
My observation of the mega-rich is that they are entitled infants who rarely if ever hear the word "No". Deshaun wasn't even returning Cal McNair's phone calls.
Billionaires usually own NFL franchises as capstones to their egos. It's apparently one of the hardest parts of building a successful one, dealing with their owners. They can be difficult. Some of them are absolute nightmares.
They do not run them like "business assets", which is a big part of the problem.
The situation in Houston is even more complicated. Robert McNair, the Texans' original founder and owner, died in 2018. Ownership passed to his wife Janice...who then named her son Cal CEO.
Cal has not done well...to put it mildly. Most observers think Cal is in way over his head. As they say, talent often skips a generation.

People were starting to talk, particularly about the way he'd completely gone back on his word to Deshaun, bringing in a GM without first consulting Deshaun, and inextricably souring his relationship with Deshaun thereby.
Then all this happened. Making Deshaun the bad guy, and completely taking the spotlight - and blame - off Cal. And the way he's completely run the Texans slap into the ground the last two years. Which was getting to be the talk of the town.
Convenient. Maybe it's just me.
But if that's "stupid as fuuuck", carry on.

Lucky for Cal that he decided to frame Watson and was fortunate enough that Watson has gotten massages from over 20 women from Instagram, even fly some of them in from out of state, and that Watson admits to having sex with at least some of these women. Pretty lucky for Cal to frame Watson in this way and for it to turn out that the random women he picked just happened to have worked with Watson.
I still say it’s pretty risky to risk asking over 20 women to lie and trust that not a single one of these women will come forward and admit that the Texans put them up to it. You’d think it would be much less of a risk to keep it to 2 or 3 women.
Also, if Cal and/or the Texans are behind this to smear Watson then why have the attorney go to Watson before all of this went public and offer to settle? If Watson accepts that deal then this never becomes a story.

Oh, I didn't say Deshaun was as pure as the driven snow. There's no doubt Deshaun provided an opening by exposing himself to he/said - she/said with these women and Buzbee duly drove through it with a Mack truck.
No doubt: Deshaun was reckless, naive, and IMHO, more than a bit of a fool. Won't argue. And if I was his girlfriend, I'd have some sharp questions for him. But this is still pure opportunism and a pure smear.
And that initial six-figure settlement? IMHO, Buzbee would have thanked Deshaun for the down payment, and then done it another 20+ times. Six figures is chump change by Buzbee's standards. The fact of the matter is that Buzbee is all about high profile. I don't think he ever had any intention of keeping this thing quiet. There is nothing in Buzbee's history that indicates "quiet" has ever been his M.O. Everything he does is big, loud, and very much with mucho fanfare.
This whole thing was supposed to blow up, and it was always going to blow up. Whether Deshaun paid that first girl or not.
Deshaun wouldn't pay, which is telling, and still won't. Despite the damage to his reputation.

It is a clear money grab. I believe the allegations are true - at least some of them, but I don't think that entitles anyone to DW's money.
That's a far cry from the lunancy some spout here. The Texans did it. It's all lies. Some here have abandoned any hint of common sense, all so they don't have to admit what everyone really knows, DW has a proclivity for prostitutes. The most entertaining part of the sordid situation is reading how people here will twist themselves into pretzles defending someone they know virtually nothing about, all because of where he played college ball.

Also, let’s say you’re 100% right. Why wouldn’t the Texans trade Watson before all of this, get a ton of draft picks in return while his stock was at an all-time high, and then come out with this smear campaign to ruin his reputation after the trade was finalized if the owner wanted revenge?

Because I think he thought Deshaun was just going to get over it. By the time Cal realized Deshaun wasn't going to just "get over it" and he'd really truly gone and stepped in it and damaged things beyond repair with his franchise QB, it was already done. If you look at the public statements coming out of Houston it was pretty much months of non-stop "Deshaun is still a member of the Texans" and they really did not seem to get he was not going to just change his mind and do as he was told.
My suspicion is the real kicker was JJ Watt getting caught on camera apologizing to Deshaun for "wasting a year of Deshaun's career", and then bailing on Houston. The public outcry among Houston fans was starting to get deafening...and all that negative pub was starting to get directed squarely at Cal McNair.

Same as everywhere else, the oldest profession in the world (Prostitution) posing as massage therapist to help keep their game hidden from the good people in and around the city/county, so that they won't be burning up the phones at the city/county law enforcement agencies. In the old days that profession was called the red light district, today they use a more acceptable name, like a Massage Parlor, with massage therapist on duty, or on call!!! That is the truth, nothing but the truth, so help me God!!!!!
