My take on Clemson and the playoff

Like the majority of people on here I can’t come up with a good explanation of Clemson being behind Alabama or even LSU at this point. I believe us being behind them all comes down to the SEC brand. I think the committee is trying to make the SEC Championship game as appealing as possible. But I think everyone knows it’s going to be over from the very beginning. I say dawgs by 14+.
The only way we get in is a USC loss, Michigan loss, a TCU loss and LSU in the SEC Championship.
But at the end of the day if we get left out there is no one we can ultimately blame but Clemson. We got our butts whipped at Notre Dame in every way possible. Without that loss we wouldn’t have to hold our breath hoping for everybody else to lose. Hopefully we get some breaks and get in but if not there is no one to blame but Clemson.

Nope again wrong. It will be Georgia, Ohio State, SC and Clemson. We are behind LSU and Bama because we have not beaten a team that excites the committee.

They think LSU and Alabama are better. It's not hard to figure out.

Truth is, the committee has spoken. We don't pass the eye test. Even if we blow out both Carolina teams, they've made it clear the value the quality of play of those already above us. i don't see a scenario where we get in this year. NONE of the current top 4 will fall out if they all play close games moving forward.
Last night, Reece Davis asked Boo straight up, "tell me something about Clemson that says they're a top 4 team." And he avoided the question and simply said "up front Clemson has some dudes." Just another way of saying, "they have no skill players who scare you."
The books are cooked, and we are NOT in this year's recipe.

The problem is the narrative that Reese is stirring by asking that question about Clemson and not Michigan, LSU, Bama, or TCU.

The playoff talk is just a distraction. All attention should be on trying to win
the next game. It is the only one that matters.

want a title, but part of me can see us getting blown out by OSU of UGA in a playoff game. It would be more delightful to see us win an Orange Bowl and finish top 5 instead of a deflating playoff loss. Not saying we cant win it all, but it doesn't seem to be in the cards.

I wanted to argue that 3 of the four losses would do it, but I think you are right. The committee will put any of those teams in ahead of us unless they lose. And the nature of the ND loss is the culprit. The Committee put us in the catbird's seat and we failed to hold onto it.
