SCAR Lamecock optimism

I almost died laughing at a recent FGF post: "In time, Beamer will be the next Steve Spurrier at South Carolina and will have better numbers after his 3rd year as head coach... And will beat Clemson in his 3rd or 4th year at Carolina..."

About the only cred I give USuCk fans is they show up. It is true they slink out of the games by half time, but they do show up.

realist to know that what that Coot supporter said is NOT impossible. If any of us are really truthful with ourselves, would we have believed ahead of time that what Dabo has accomplished here was possible? I'm not saying that Shane Beamer is even a Dabo Lite, but, his future is completely yet to be written.
As far as him beating us in his third or fourth year, that could EASILY happen if we get so overconfident that we take that game for granted. Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, rivalry games have already many times in the past, and can again in the future, have unexpected outcomes.
Just mention the words "Kick Six" to any Alabama fan, if you don't believe it.

That’s a pretty tame comparison. You should have used one of the goods ones comparing Beamer to Dabo.

I’m a broken man at this point. We are out here stealing recruits from Benedict and North Texas.
No need to kick me down at this point.

uof6c recruiting is absolutely on fire. Of course, the next time they write something about the Capons that is not riddled with very subjective and overly optimistic gobbledygook, will be the first time.
Apparently they get really excited about kids who transfer from Kansas.

In comparing him to Spurrier, they are probably talking about him eventually walking away midseason.

those clowns subject themselves to every year by setting themselves up with unrealistic expectations of success.
By October they will be shouting that Beamer and Tanner should be fired. Just watch.

Good take. Tanner has been headed out for some time and a new AD will want "his" guy. Beamer is just holding the slot. He will not be there long enough to build a team (if even he can do that in chicken land).

Why shouldn’t Mr. Beamer expect to have success at UofSC? Lightning can strike anywhere. No one is safe from a tornado. And UofSC WILL achieve football success as surely as Auburn occasionally or episodically beats Alabama. Change is inevitable. As is hubris. Beware.

Hey nothing is impossible. But it’s HIGHLY unlikely. They may possibly get to be a consistent 7 win team by year 4 but that’s about their ceiling. Unless Beamer is the next coming of Dabo they’ll continue to be average at best. Can they beat us by year 4. Maybe. It’ll take some luck on their Part. Just as Pittsburg and Syracuse had luck on their side. We all know about blind squirrels.

The coot optimism is what makes playing them so fun. They're always so shocked when they suck again.
