Tommy Bowden was a coward and a bully, who ran up the score against inferior teams. He was not a good football coach.
Brad Brownell is an excellent coach who produces fair results for a thankless crowd base who don't understand the game and don't attend the games. He does the best he can recruiting players that Duke and NC ignore. Who would want to come and play for a school where the fans don't bother to show up, but sit and criticize the coach when his players don't produce. The coaches we've had who temporarily produced flash in the pan results all cut out when their recruiting tanked - Purnell when his highrst rated recruits (Jennings and Bobo) underperformed, and Barnes when he lost a few players to Dean Smith. Both used sorry excuses for leaving. The other excellent coach we've had is Cliff Ellis, who has taken four different teams to the tournament, who again produced pretty fair results with inferior facilities.

Don't ever forget if we never had Tommy Bowden, we probably would never have had Dabo.
