You Spieth supporters are still happy . . .

He continues to lead at Pebble Beach . . .
Kyle on the other hand dropped 19 spots . . . and I should be happy . . . Hear me out . . . He shot +4 on the opening 9 and looked to be settling into the basement . . . But he found another gear and shot -3 on the homeward nine to shoot +1 today
Still a shot at earning a nice payout tomorrow . . .

Close one out. If he loses two Sundays in a row I think it may stick with him for a long while

Kyle has made the cut in 10 of 12 tournaments this season. He only has one top ten finish, but he has been the most consistent of our guys.

You dang right I'm a Spieth supporter .Have been since day 1. Is he back? Not by along shot. He had the lead going into Sunday last weekend and couldn't finish. But he is beginning to show some life, which is good for the game ,IMO, unless of course you want to pull for Alabama's Justin Thomas, who was recently dropped by Polo for uttering a certain profanity during a recent tournament ,or perhaps you like Dustin Johnson, who was born in Columbia and attended Coastal and who finally got that Green Jacket, in "November". Or maybe you are a Patrick Reed supporter who dropped out of UGA and certainly isn't the poster boy for proper etiquette when it comes to the rules of golf. But the problem I have with the Clemson golfers is not their play but none of them are, IMO, what you would consider a ringing endorsement for the University. At least Tiger has a tiger head cover for his driver.

was winning a bunch. He could be counted on to sink a couple Hail Mary putts nearly every round, it seemed. So sad watching him trying to putt in later years and freezing up over three footers. Hope Spieth continues his comeback. We need more Americans playing good golf come Ryder Cup time.
That puts Steve Stricker and Bernhard Langer in even more perspective. Those guys are still making putts at well past 50.

I had kind of given up on him, but great to see him doing well. When he's on, he gets zoned into a beast mode kind of like Tiger. Absolutely it's good for the sport if he is doing well.

How many remember Clemson Golfer and PGA Pro Dillard Pruitt. Dillard is a great guy in fact I played a round or two when we went to the same HS. Compared to Dillard, I was a major hacker. He is the brother in law of Jay Hass. Both Great families. Very humble and very generous.
Dillard had a stellar career at Clemson. As a Clemson Alumni he has been a great Ambassador for Clemson.
I am sure many of your remember the Thorneblade Classic a tournament Jay Hass use to put on for charity. Several top names use to play in the tournament. I remember seeing Fuzzy Zellar, Peter Jacobsen, Davis Love and several others. Each pro would played with a group of 3 who donated money to play with them. It was a great day of so called work hanging out with your clients at a golf tournament. We would take our several of our best clients each year.
One year I was standing near one of the tee boxes at the Thorneblade Tournament when Dillard Pruitt walked by. To my surprise Dillard stopped briefly spoke to me then shook my hand. He even gave me a golf ball and signed it. It was my 15 seconds of fame that day. The fact that Dillard would take a minute to say hello and autograph a golf ball for a fan. But that is the kind of guy he is. We had not seen each other for 10 to 15 years. I have to admit my head was so big the rest of the day my neck got tired from carrying my head around.
I believe Dillard may have accomplished more on The PGA Tour but he wife was ill during his career. Unfortunately she passed away in 2008.
I like to share this story for a couple of reasons. One it was cool that a PGA Pro knew me and second to show how classy Clemson Alumni are. Weather they were athletes or just regular students most all are special people.
There is something special in those hills surrounding Clemson University. Dillard could have walked by and just said hello but instead he stopped to take a little extra time to acknowledge a friend. Even Clemson fans are unique!
Dillard Pruitt was a great kid in HS and he is a great man today. Success never changed Dillard Pruitt.

I think what has kept Jordan Spieth from reaching his full potential as a PGA Pro is how he sets his priorities. IMO Jordan Spieth does not make winning his number one priority in life. Tiger Woods is just the opposite. He shanked his marriage for more wins, more money and more fame. Plus he enjoyed putting his putter in several other Bags!
I believe golf is probably 3 or 4 on JS’s list of priorities. Before he got married he had that great year. He probably is set for life so I don’t think winning will make or break who Jordan Spieth is. I believe once he got married his priorities changed.
By the way I am a Jordan Spieth fan and have been since he made the PGA Tour.

I hope Jordan can close it out today. If any of you haven't watched the 2 part documentary on HBO-Tiger, it's good. His dad and mom created the machine that was and is Tiger. I really feel somewhat sad for Tiger after watching the documentary. Tiger has loosened up just a bit, but there are not apparently a lot of layers to him. After watching the documentary, I have even more respect for Nicklaus. He seemingly has had a rich family life and yet was dominant too. I never was a fan of Jack nor Tiger. Both were just so good. I always wanted someone to knock them off except for both of their last Masters wins. Both of those were really cool events.

Unfortunately for him, didn't shoot an above average round yesterday and is doing the same today. Hitting too many drives to right field. Now 2 shots off the lead with 5 to play.
