Telephones now rule the world

May 31, 2021, 5:46 PM

--- but not all worlds. The thing we call a phone is more than that, in fact the "phone part" is kinda minor.

If I still worked in Charlotte, would have the best one $$ could buy and would use it constantly.
I am retired and a hermit in Oconee. There is no signal at my home.
My T-mobile plan is $2.50 a month and pay as I go. It connects to my WiFi and works well. I seldom have use it, most times don't know where it is. I do take it fishing as it has a good camera.

Phones are now more a mobile computer. As I am usually home, prefer the large screen of a monitor or my big TV. Skype is cheap, but have no one to call. From what I gather folks don't talk much these days (it is a phone), but instead text. I rather use a computer and a keyboard with my fat fingers.

In the world of normal folks, if phones are not in one's reach they feel lost.
It has become a very important tool.
It is kinda odd to me that even at a Tiger game, many folks spend more time on the phone than watching the game.

I just use my cell phone as an alarm clock. Without good 4g service, it is not possible for it to keep the exact time, which means I could be awoken several seconds late depending on the model of the phone.

It crows at sunrise every morning. Sheer magic!

exactly, they do not require 4g service to tell time.

And when you retire, it's ready for grilling.
