You know why I liked Meatloaf?

Here is this just super fat dude with a great voice who just didn't give a rip about fitting into this rock-star persona. He was weird and cool just in his own way. Probably will trend on TikTok soon.
What does this got to do with football? Good question.

I had never heard that, but no bueno. Usually if you’ve heard that, it’s true. I find it hilarious when people find out that the like of Oprah and Ellen are the equivalent of satan incarnate. People can act, no?
Hate to hear that about one of the greats.
Next thing you’ll tell me is Billy Joel is a major azzhole… Don’t, please.

I am kind of a weirdo when it comes to researching famous people. I find it really interesting. Anyway, Billy Joel is the man.
This might be surprising to some but Mr. "give peace a chance" John Lennon was a HUGE jerk!
You know what they say about meeting your heroes?

when famous folks are discussed.
That’s good to know. Some of these dudes are just oxygen thieves.
One guy that had been a bit of an icon for me over the years is Keanu Reeves. If you haven’t which I’m guessing you have, check him out. Total human being. I actually worked for a company that made products he used in his John Wick films. Said he was a salt of the earth dude and one of the hardest workers he had ever encountered in that industry. Does the majority of his own stunts and spends a copious amount of time prepping on his own dime for his roles. He also gives a lot of him money away and lives a mostly normal life. Big fan myself.

A buddy worked the John Cougar Mellencamp concert in Littlejohn and said he was a straight up good guy. He would talk to fans before the concert while the roadies set up the stage, etc.

My wife used to babysit for Mellencamp and the other band members when we were first married and lived in Bloomington Indiana. Her opinion is that they just came off like regular family people. No one strutted in there like their crap didn't stink, they were all personable and friendly to her.
Kenny Rogers was pretty cool too. My aunt was good friends with his first wife. Even after they were divorced he maintained contact with my aunt. Sent Christmas cards every year and a copy of every new album release.

No offense, but you're showing your age. Most T-netters haven't heard of Neal Diamond . He was first popular in the mid-60s and held-on into the 70s. (1965 was 57 years ago)

Just got Neil Diamond's greatest hits. We are old but we had great music. However, I do like Zac Brown but Skyynard has it all.

but I do like Brown. He’s an old soul, no doubt.
Serious question, did the internet ruin music? Seriously. Before the net, people had talent. Now, I discount the great bands of the 90’s like Nirvana and Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day, and to some degree Metallica (80’s derived), but after that… Slim pickins.
Tell me I’m wrong.

Jason Isbell is an amazing writer and lyricist. Billy Strings can flat out play.
I recently went back through Skynard’s discography and this guys had an amazing sound.
Thanks for the music topic.

I liked him because he sang about things that all of us were doing and thinking. His Greatest Hits is a great CD.

I still like meat loaf, with ketchup on top. Add to it mashed potatoes, gravy and those green little peas and I am back at my grandmothers house on Sunday ,after church when times were more simple and you didn't have a care in the world .Next Sunday will either be a pot roast or a fully fried chicken. As to the singer ,may he R.I.P.

And take the leftover meatloaf, not the singer, and fry slices on a flat top, then cover in gravy over taters. Mmmmm.

I saw an interview where Meat said his HS football career helped shape his persona.....so there you have it.

Here's a good reason to have liked Meatloaf>>> Karla Devito
I can remember when she was living in Columbia while her husband Robby Benson was teaching at UofSC. Jonathan Rush (local DJ) used to have a "Karla Devito sighting" update he would do after he saw her in the grocery store or elsewhere. It was to the tune of Iron Butterfly's In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. It went something like:
I saw Karla Devito, baby.... Don't cha know that I luh-uh-ove you.
