Could Arch Manning really go to the Dawgs? Just saw a

May 25, 2022, 10:54 AM

story where another top rated QB committed to the Crimson Tide, which probably means they either took themselves out of the running, or Manning himself told them he ain't coming. So now, the two schools still "left standing" are Texas and Georgia.

Could a Manning really be a Dawg? It just seems too weird to contemplate.

Texas has Quinn Ewers for another two-three years. Georgia will lose their starting QB.

If immediate playing time matters to him, Georgia is probably his likely destination. My only hope at that point would be for him to transfer like Fields did.

Georgia has long been one of the top destinations for football recruits that goes back to Good God Almighty Hershel Walker as Larry Munson said. It would be no surprise if Manning winds up at Georgia.

Texas A&M. They pay the most.

I here ya. But money and NIL ain’t this kids 1st priority. He wants to continue the manning legacy and win championships.

A more accurate statement would have likely been that this kid's going to get national NIL deals no matter where he goes, so he isn't concerned with some underhanded booster giving him an "NIL deal" to get him to sign with a certain team.

I'm sure Arch wants to win championships, but it's not like he is going to turn down the "legal" money that is thrown at him once he gets to school.

I'm sure all of the money-chasers want to win championships too and they think they are good enough for it to happen no matter which highest bidder they choose.

You don’t say “No” to Georgia

UGA and Kirby basically pick who they want.

It is not fair but it is reality.

If he doesn’t go to Clemson, which I’m aware he won’t, I hope he goes to a surprise Jackson State, though he won’t.

The thing about Arch Manning is that he’s a legacy player. NIL will not be the most important thing to him. He is chasing championships. Since uga is poised to make another run and bama showing signs of decline, i’d say it’s a valid possibility.

If he did it would confirm what I've said for years. The SEC is the sports version of incest.

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.

Re: Could Arch Manning really go to the Dawgs? Just saw a

May 25, 2022, 1:55 PM

As much as I hate to say it, it makes sense. They are losing their QB. The Manning family has deep ties to the SEC, and if I was a young man trying to make my mark, I wouldn't go to Ole Miss or UT and follow in another Manning's shoes.

He will go SEC, and the most logical choice is UGA. Whatever the kid wants to do is what is best. We play with who decides to come to Clemson and we have plenty of talent to play with anyone, anywhere. We won't win them all, but we will win more than we lose.
