Not so easy to stop an elite nfl offense. The OT rules do leave too much to chance with a coin toss.

Realize it simply isn’t fair!! Why argue a moot point, it’s an idiotic OT and embarrassment to football.
Question for you : is it fair for only 1 defense to have to play in OT like last week and so many other times ??? Why would the Chiefs not also need to play defense ??
Yes playing defense and stopping opponent from scoring TD sounds nice and easy but momentum says otherwise.
Fair is fair and NFL OT is not fair

It’s simply dumb in terms of competitive spirit. Coin toss won KC the game last week because I assure you Buffalo wins game if they won coin toss. See how that works ??? Unfair no matter the perspective

It matter for 60 minutes. Maybe you need to learn how competition works since you obviously think it’s ok to be unfair.

Should extra innings in baseball end when a team scores in top of the inning ?? It’s equivalent in terms of competitive spirit, however It’s fair to each team and not pure luck coin toss garbage

It’s the rule, no matter if it’s right or not. My guess is it gets changed because it simply isn’t based in competitive fairness. Today the Bengals got it done, good for them. Last week Buffalo did not and Josh Allen and the offense sent home for doing nothing wrong, which is not good for any competition. Yea his defense let him down however KC defense wasn’t given chance to let Mahommes and KC offense down.
You think the rule is ok, there are many who do not agree. We will agree to disagree ?.
When rule is changed just be thankful it’s become a fair OT

For a shot at the Super Bowl, i would prefer playing a quarter, a half, etc. until one was ahead after a regulated time... Make the time 10, 15, minutes, but play to a determined time.

I don’t remember where I read it but the team that wins the toss wins OT 52.7% of the time. That doesn’t mean that they win in on the first possession. Players Union will never go for longer playing time without getting something in return.
