It's a FACT. I participated in a womenless beauty pageant where men dressed up like women. Our church was raising money for a group heading on a Mission Trip to Honduras. It had to be my talent that won it for me. I don't think the older group knew what to think, the middle aged group knew Rapper's Delight, the younger group didn't know what to think, and the teenagers were impressed that an "old" man knew how to rap.

SO this raises 2 questions--
Did you limit the rap performance to the 3-minute part that was allowed to be played on regular radio stations?
And what denomination was this church?!

Place where I worked somehow started having a beauty pageant to raise money for the United Way. Seemed like a weird but OK idea to raise money for a good cause. The pageants started out with a lot of guys hootin' and hollarin' at the idiots dressing like women. You know, just a bunch of good ole boys acting silly for a good cause.
This bad idea ran for about 3 years and then was ended, thank goodness. It turned out that in a largely male crowd of a couple of thousand men, more than a few REALLY liked the idea of drag, put their heart into it and......Well it was just a lot weirder idea than a good idea. You never know what lurks in the heart of your fellow man.
The people who think up such events are not average.
All you navy vets who've crossed the equator on all male crews who put on the silly outfits? Yep, I'm talking about all such 'dress up' shams. Not that there is anything wrong with it, you know.

Ours was for a great cause and raised a good bit of money.
