Local Rec soccer is making the players wear masks while

Mar 23, 2021, 1:02 PM

playing. They actually sit on the sidelines with the masks around their chins, then have to pull them up to play when they enter the field. It's just stupid.

And for over a year now the local walking track has been closed at the high school. Nobody is going to convince me that it actually has anything to do with Covid. They just don't want to be bothered with having to unlock and lock the gate each day.

Roy Cooper sucks! Why would anybody ever vote for that nimrod!?

If you go look at the vote totals he received more votes than President Trump who won North Carolina. If I'm not mistaken the Senate Republican also won. I say that to say this, people who voted in North Carolina would have voted for the President then Senate then Governor. Cooper got substantially more votes than the President. So they want you to believe that people in North Carolina bypassed voting for the President and Senator and went straight to Governor and voted for Cooper. There were a few states where these irregular voting practices happened and it only seem to plague toss up states. It is highly highly unlikely that someone doesn't vote for either President nor Senator and goes straight to the Governor even though President and Senator races come up before the Governor race. Nobody says anything about North Carolina because Trump won but there were some highly controversial happenings in North Carolina. And yes Cooper is a dweeb and top 5 worse Governors but we are suppose to believe we can just vote him out next time, it's hard to believe that when they cheat.

I love that argument

Mar 23, 2021, 6:53 PM

If I can’t make sense of something, then someone must have cheated. That has to be the reason Cooper won. Why don’t you move? It would be a win/win for you and NC.

Yes, we were supposed to play a baseball tournament this weekend in Cary (Containment Area for Relocated Yankees) and just found out that the players, umps, and fans must wear a mask at all times. That’s a good way to get your teeth knocked out with hard hit ground ball. Our tournament director has moved site locations to Goldsboro and Greensboro where mask are not required while on the field.

How does wearing a mask increase the risk of taking a ball to the face?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I have yet to understand why people wear masks when they

Mar 23, 2021, 1:38 PM

are around people they have been around for the duration. And, when they are not in a close group of strangers. I see people walking by themselves wearing masks!!

When I took an environmental engineering class in college, I remember the phrase, "The solution to pollution is dilution." This has got to apply to these pesky COVID virus cells (pollution). I cannot think of a more effective dilution solution than being outside in the open air.

I am confident some Google MD will tell me this is wrong. But, we have to use common sense. Unfortunately, the sheep will follow whatever the slaughterers will tell them.

into the “wearing a mask means you care about other people” bullcarp.

They pounded that one into our heads from the beginning.

Hey, if my 5yo can wear a mask, folks can suck it up. Heck my 2yo can do it for a while. Otherwise, they think sneeze-tag is a funny game -uggg.

I am sitting out youth soccer (normally coaching otherwise) til next fall. So if mask are required for those that want to play, well that is an opt in scenario. I have to have frequent contact with a high-vulnerability person (my mother) since my father past last year, so if you think everything is "fine" well there are a lot of other folks that have to do otherwise.

Libertarian that split-ticketed and voted for Cooper. He is Gov. Do-little. Does very little, and gets in the way as little as possible. Our Covid cases are about 20-40% less than SC, GA, and TN given population. The "new" GOPumpers don't realize that ol'Coop is a throwback 70s style republican which is why he is well liked in NC : +14 in job approval. Stop worrying about the letter in parenthesis () and both watching what they are actuall doing.

just one sentence after calling people “GOPumpers”.

That’s too good, man.

Re: ^^^ Says “stop worrying about the letter in parentheses”

Mar 24, 2021, 9:17 AM

Yeah, the GOP has radically changed in the past 15/20 or so years. Gone is conservative stewardship of good governance. Keep government in its lane and make it efficient. What I would not give to have someone like Jack Kemp. There is a reason I left the Republicans for the Libertarians ideals - even if practice is somewhat clownish. Now there is the "Pumper" aka like a firehose that just spews uncontrollably. Those that just want to attack the opposing side because "sticking it to the libs" and blindly following a part has gotten us into this mess. Same goes to the Dems, the outrage warriors but at lest the core "establishment Dems kept their pumpers somewhat controlled. I am shocked to say that the Dems do have better control over their own party.

The biggest problem is that both the parties treat internal criticism domestic threats and opposing political criticism as foreign. The "pumpers", yeah, those are the dangerous ones. Same with their liberal counterparts. My biggest worry is that if the GOPumpers keep going crazy, they are going to become so toxic that some truly socialist Dems could get elected. (And no, most Dems are not socialist - a few are like AOC but that is like calling all Republicans Libertarians when only Paul kinda fits and even then not perfectly)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

have you thought about moving?

Mar 23, 2021, 2:15 PM

that would take care of the issue. Do you even think the virus is real?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I had the virus and survived.

Mar 23, 2021, 5:10 PM

I do know that cases are dropping across the country and the death rate is now negligible. With the vaccines the most susceptible people have by and large been immunized while the remaining population are those who should be able to deal with the virus.

Time to lose the masks.

Re: I had the virus and survived.

Mar 23, 2021, 5:18 PM

The death rate has always been negligible. Most problem just can’t fathom a big number even when it’s a small percent. It doesn’t help the media using it as political canon fodder to get rid of someone they don’t like by spreading hysteria. Reality is there are a significant amount of people in the world and an insignificant number that died. People can’t separate numbers and percentages bc the human brain struggles with processing billions. I lost people I knew to Covid, it sucks but people die every day.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes it is all a big conspiracy

Mar 23, 2021, 7:05 PM

Conspiracies everywhere. The media is in cahoots with the doctors who are in cahoots with the liberals who are in cahoots science who are in cahoots with satan.

They are all out to get you. It’s all a big scheme that they came up with without you knowing behind your back. Fight on brother!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Yes it is all a big conspiracy

Mar 23, 2021, 9:41 PM

I said nothing about conspiracy. I said people died (fact), I said a small percentage of the population died (fact), and I said the media blew it out of proportion (coverage to such a small percent dying would be a fact). The fact of the matter is people die and it isn’t a reason to shut the world down. Again, most people can’t comprehend billions. You see a number like several hundred thousand dead or a few million in the world... those sound like big numbers because most of us can’t comprehend that those “big” numbers are actually small in the grand scheme. Not saying it doesn’t suck for people who lost people they know which I did, I’m saying it’s an insignificant number of people who died when looking at a macro scale. You don’t shut down the world over it.

You may be right outlaw... but how do you explain such genius moves by such well respected liberal leaders like Cuomo, Newsome, Kamala.... oh wait lol.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Maybe they are just trying to play it safe bc

Mar 23, 2021, 7:09 PM [ in reply to I had the virus and survived. ]

There is still so much unknown about the virus. And wearing a mask in the grand scheme of things is not that big of a sacrifice?
