NIL deals don't always have to be like DJU's Dr. Pepper deal. Some small school kids are probably doing local advertisements in small towns where football is like a 2nd religion.
I like the fact the schools aren't paying the kids.
I dislike the fact - this stuff is going to affect some of the effort I think you would have seen ordinarily. I.E. if a kid gets a NIL deal who has never seen a few thousand; will they put in the work needed? The natural answer many of us would think would be: yes, of course so he could potentially get more. But, look at NFL players after they get their free agent deals. Often, that's when that player has his worst year after signing! The feeling of accomplishment and "I made it" overwhelms some of them and they can't understand "there more to do"! And, that there is another level to obtain.
Sadly, I think it's just going to get worse and the kids who can handle it assembled on the same team hopefully(Clemson) will put in the work necessary to be better than the rest.
