yea tajh Mads some bone headed plays over his career

Aug 17, 2014, 4:19 PM

But who hasnt. He may not have been able to master the zone read option and did some dumb things under pressure but he sure helped us have our best two seasons since the 80s. He threw an excellent deep ball and wasn't scared to ground and pound to get that 1 yard or goaline touchdown that our rbs couldnt. I think it's crazy to assume stoudt or watson are gonna be better than tajh. We've seen stoudt in limited mop up duty and while he did well its not the same as starting a tough game. Stoudts arm strength is nowhere near what tajhs is. I think tajh helped bring us into a top 10 caliber team along with others. I Hope stoudt looks like Tom Brady this year but to dismiss tajh efforts and assume stoudt is better is ludicris.

ludicris is no Snoop Dog

TO me it's simple

Tajh went out there and played as hard as I've seen a player play. Good plays and bad plays alike they were plays of effort, and that's about all you can ask as a fan.

And it's patently absurd for any fan who celebrated the (much more numerous) good plays to bemoan and harp on the bad.

I remember watching a few games where we lost by less than a touchdown and his frequent intercepted passes sealed the deal for the other team'
at times he was awesome.
other than too many interceptions, he was fantastic. Tended to throw off balance a lot---or throwing not set up. Chad never could get that corrected

I think your memory is a little off

During his career we lost 8 total games. None of them by single digits.

I couldn't remember a single game we lost with Tajh where it was close. For the most part with Tajh we beat teams by a bunch or lost by a couple possessions or more. In the few games that were actually close over the last 3 years, Boyd was actually very successful.

I'm not saying that he never played a big part in some of our losses, but any QB typically plays a big role when his team loses. Over the years, there were 3 or 4 losses where Tajh simply wasn't on his game, but in most of the losses, the whole team wasn't on it's game either.

Tajh Boyd is one of the best QB's we've ever had. Deciding exactly where he falls on the list depends upon what value you put on Championships, beating Scar, breaking records, and the offensive scheme he played in.

Boyd broke the vast majority of records at his position. The Morris offense, Sammy, Nuk, AE, and Dwayne Allen were all a huge part of this along with many others. Nevertheless, he put up huge numbers.

No matter how you look at it, I don't see how anyone can not include him on a top 5 list along with Fuller, Jordan, Woody, and Charlie regardless of what you value the most.
