Y’all think Trevor or Deshaun will ever win a Super Bowl?

Feb 5, 2022, 2:37 PM

Assuming Deshaun is able to continue his career.

I think It’s highly possible one of those former Tiger QBs will notch a SB before they retire. I’m hoping Jax can turn things around and if DW fixes his mess it would be awesome to see him land in Pittsburg with Tomlin. That offense is stacked right now but are QB less

I do but would love to see DW get his life straightened out. Seemed to have a good head on his shoulders while at Clemson. Everyone states how great of a person he is but the fact of the matter is a lot of these multi millionaires are involved with something with their communities. Not saying he is a bad person just believe he knew better being in his position. Not to crazy about sitting out either. If you sign a contract, honor it. They didn’t bring you on to pick the coach out or make roster changes. The whole deal with him stinks. Hoping he gets it turned around!

I believe Deshaun is a great person. I also believe great people make mistakes. I also believe when great people go from low to middle class up to the top 90% they are prone to make mistakes even easier. I hope he learns this and returns to his roots as the humble, selfless person we saw at Clemson…….and then wins a super bowl

Agreed. Just hope his bad decisions hasn’t cost him his career. IMO in the world of the NFL and competition sitting out a year is a pretty big deal. Hoping for the best. Love to watch him play and with some good guys around him I put nothing past what he can accomplish.

Sitting out was his idea?

Thought the team made that call

No he was demanding a trade before all these “happy ending” stories were brought up.

Watson demanded a trade in the off-season. He has shown up every day to Texans

Feb 5, 2022, 3:36 PM

facility this season. It was the Texans decision not to play him this year even though they were paying him. The Texans thought they’d be able to move him and knew he wasn’t part of the long term plans so no need to start with the unknown off the field distraction/disruption looming. If they don’t move Watson this off-season they’ll be paying him like $30+ mil to not play - hard to believe that they would make that same decision a 2nd year in a row.

I knew he was showing up but thought it was understood he was never going to play. I’m just saying it all started because he was demanding to be traded. I say ask for a trade, which I understood with OBrien running the team in the ground, while honoring the contract was my issue. Showing up and knowing you don’t plan on playing is two different things. I just want him to get straight. I had high expectations for DW. I’m going to say the best QB we ever had at Clemson. He was special.

He would have played. They chose not to play him.

It can’t be any clearer than that.

So why would you pay him 600,000 a game to sit on the bench. I fail to understand. Seems dumb to have a franchise QB (that will play) sitting on the bench. I do not believe he ever intends on playing for the Texans again.

No, he already said he wasn't going to play for them, it

I understand what you are saying about the contract an agree.
I also see his point- that I could be in this league for 10-12 years- maybe longer, but if I am running for life every game- because you trade away our best players- No thank you Sir.

Yes, sitting out was Watson's decision***

Sure hope so but odds are against them. DW might have a better shot if he goes to a good franchise.

Ask this question again after the draft and we'll probably have a better idea at least for one player (DW4).

Regarding TL, it'll be a year or 2 to see what happens to feel better about his current situation.

I liked the hire for Jacksonville even if some folks weren't crazy about Pederson -- IMO he was probably the best available that has HC experience.

I know folks don't like Baalke as GM and can't say I blame them so it'll remain to be seen if they can run the team efficiently with him still there.

Overall, I liked what I saw from TL16 as a whole last season.

No, he didn't turn the Jags into playoff contenders like Andrew Luck his rookie year (certainly different situation too) but prime Tom Brady would have had trouble reaching .500 with that team and supporting cast.

As for DW4, as touched on above, depends on where he lands. Remember, he has a no trade clause so he'll be picky like he was last season.

I have no clue what that means since, as a Dolphins fan, pre-allegations, I was on the DW4 hype train, since he specifically listed Miami as one of the few places he'd be okay going to.

Now, with the debacle the franchise is in and no HC named yet, I have no clue if he'll still want to come to Miami (assuming he settles/clears his name).

Would love to see it since I'm on the fence at best with Tua as I think he's a Chad Pennington clone IMO (which isn't bad and probably good enough to reach the playoffs but not sure if he'd be able to duke it out with the other AFC power QBs like Mahomes, Burrow, Herbert, Allen, etc)

Pending where DW4 goes, I like his chances in the next 5 years more than TL16 to win a SB

I'm just wondering if my team will ever even get back to a Super Bowl.
Seriously,I'd say Trevor is more likely to have a chance than Deshaun. At least he is still playing.
