Tiger Baseball #5 in current RPI

I hope the boys can stay away from injuries this season. They seem to be playing loose this year, and I have even noticed more situational small ball being played. I would love nothing better than to see the team succeed this year.

This is definitely subject to change, but over the past 4 or 5 games the weak links in the lineup were a couple of guys that I was expecting huge things from this year. Hopefully they get things turned around soon and we will be "hitting" on all cylinders then.

to have two guys in the lineup that hit for average . . . Ingle and Blackwell . . . I’m looking at you two and applauding!!!

It’s been a while since we’ve had a level swing through the strike zone.

Love the “small ball” options being used as well . . . We’ve even had a “hit and run” implemented a time or two!!! In all fairness to Monte, early last season he tried to bunt a few times, but no one could put the ball on the ground . . . thus, he gave up on it as an option. Someone has worked on this during the off-season!!! Kudos to those that did and to those that instructed the activity!!!

Tyler Corbitt is hitting really well. He has a nice average. Im happy to see chad fairey have some success. He struggled his freshman season. Hard work pays off! Now if Grice gets it going and Taylor can get healthy and into the groove the team might be scary!

Northeastern on FRI,SAT & SUN

Northeastern just swept NC State. That series starting on Friday will be big for both teams. I think we'll "know what we've got" in a week. Loving what I've seen so far!

You can belittle beating the #15 team in the country 3 times in a row all you want. Free country and what not. The rest of us will be watching that series with great interest.

NC State will probably be well prepared for us compare to Northeastern when we take the diamond. Tulane just beat the defending national champs in a series...is Mississippi State gonna finish in the SEC cellar as a result? There's still 2 months of season left before postseason play - lets not get too much of a big head while enjoying the hot start this team is having.
