Wow, Texas lost to Kansas.

Nov 15, 2021, 2:30 PM

This year has been a wild surprise for us. We're finding ways to lose games and also to win games. It seems like a Bowden year in some ways. However, our university is aligned for success and we won't have repeat seasons such as this. The same cannot be said for Texas. What a dumpster fire. How many quality coaches are going to crash and burn there?

Charlie Strong - good coach.
Tom Herman - good coach.

And now Sarkisian.

These coaches are good, maybe not great. Whatever misalignment they have, it runs deep and they'll have to eat more humble pie before they're able to fix it. They won't even admit they have a problem, it seems. They feel like saying, "Hey, we're Texas." should be good enough.

Maybe I'm wrong. Am I? Thoughts?

Mack recruited well and had it going there before it quickly unraveled. I'm not sure why it happened. I just hope we arent headed down that path

Is Charlie Strong is even a good head coach? He only really won during two seasons with Teddy Bridgewater. I also don't know if I would go as far as to say that Herman crash and burned there either. He never had a losing season and won the Sugar bowl in four years. There a few coaches that can maintain 10 plus wins. Saban, Smart, Day, Fisher, Kelly, and Dabo are about it. James Franklin, Harbaugh, Cristobal are probably a step down, but each of these guys would have probably been fired for a poor season. Texas seems to think they deserve a coach in that top tier and unless they get one the carousel will only continue.

I know Texas has all the money in the world, but

$10M to fire Charley Strong. Hired Herman at nearly $6M per year, then paid him $25M to leave and now paying Sark $5.4M per year to lose to Kansas at home.

Not money well spent

constantly purchasing the latest and greatest clubs, balls, and shoes in a desperate attempt to dramatically and magically improve their game.

It ain't never gonna happen.

A couple of good years under Mack and that’s about it. They are worse than Michigan when it comes to internal perceptions over what they should be than what they are be.

UT football has the same problem Cal football has. The culture of their city and their University has shifted in a direction that sees football, and men's sports in general, as a barbaric exploitation of the proletariat and a symbol of the patriarchy. Hard to have a successful program when the board of trustees does not support it.

Texas has “ Terminal Entitlement Syndrome”. If you go to that campus, you will find approximately 27,000 Karens & 24,000 Little Lord Fauntleroys, all dressed up and playing cowboy.

Let's be fair...

Texas has won four (4) National Titles in football (1963, 1969, 1970 and 2005). Granted only one of those was achieved in the modern era of college football but they won nonetheless.

They did play for another in 2010 but lost to Bama 21- 37. As far as I can tell, they haven't been particularly relevant since so it would seem they have a case of the Gamecock (yearly grandiose delusions and over-exaggerated optimism).
