That's the coldest game I've ever

Nov 21, 2016, 10:10 PM

Attended it was sleeting as we walked back to the car.

That's because you're a young whippersnapper

Why, when I was young we played most of the games after October 15th in 400 mph winds at temperatures near absolute zero...

Seriously, Clemson vs SC in 1972 and the Clemson vs Baylor Peach Bowl in 1979 were the coldest games I can remember. The 2000 game was cold but I handled it pretty well - probably because the crowd was packed really close together where I was sitting.

Wow! I forgot about the 1979 Peach Bowl

My mind tried to blank that game out it was so cold. The only fun part of that game was watching the live bear on the sideline.

I agree, 1979 peach bowl against Baylor coldest game I remember. Damp and misty cold. Went to the men's room standing in line some guy behind me told everyone to hurry up, guy at the urinal said you'll have to wait a min. I'm so da*m cold I can't even find mine.

I had just graduated from Clemson and moved to Atlanta to do my grad work at GA Tech. I remember I had been walking around that day in jeans and a tee shirt with my girlfriend and then going to the game. I was freezing my butt off as the temps dropped from the warm afternoon temperatures and I was still wearing just my tee shirt , no jacket or sweater.

I was at both...I believe Peach Bowl was the coldest, then

drove three hours home, afterwards.

I'll never forget our ride back to the hotel after the 72 Peach bowl. The cab smelled like a horse barn but we didn't care because it had a great heater.
