Wow. This place is a mess.

I saw a great game and a great, overachieving team, play last night. All this fire Morris, blah blah stuff is really disappointing to see. We played FSU's starting defense last night. All of them. We played FSU's starting Offensive line last night, and all of their starters except quarterback. Up until the end we owned the trenches.
Yes, our running game is mediocre at best, and yes, our kicking game is bad. But the upside for this team is HUGE in the future. Before this year started I said we would lose 3 games. I was very impressed with Watson last night. This time last year he was playing HS football. Last night he played the best team in the nation.
Our defense dominated most of the game, and the entire first half. IF we had Cat Man and Gurly at RB, we would win out. We dropped a lot in talent after last season, but the impact has been far less than I expected.
All the haters really need to rethink where we are and where we're going because there's HUGE potential with this team. Watson will be a beast by the time he's a senior, and if we get our kicking game fixed and a really good RB, the sky is the limit.
And for all of those Morris haters.....he was sending in plays to a true freshman last night who has only been practicing in our system a few months. Yes, we were vanilla, but I think we looked darn good playing vanilla with a true freshman QB against one of the best defenses in college football.
One other thing I noticed...their crowd noise seemed to bother us last night.
I will conclude by saying I am disappointed, but those on here running around with their hair on fire need to look ahead, because the future IS bright. Kicker and RB....fix those and we're back in the mix.

Fact: We lost a helluva QB last year.
FACT: We lost a helluva kicker last year.
FACT: We lost a helluva receiver last year.
FACT: We don't have a helluva RB.
FACT: We don't have a helluva reviever.

FACT: EVERYONE expected us to lose, and lose big last night, even against FSU's 2nd string QB.

Some of us aren't satisfied with just being close to great. It's time to take the next step as a program and last night it was GIVEN to us on a platter and we spilled it everywhere.
This wasn't our year to be a top 10 team or wi the ACC but it was there for the takin last night and our players and staff found a new way to blow it.
Great coaches and programs seize those chance opportunities to take the next step. Last night wasn't just a close loss......we lost the ACC title, unless a minor miracle happens and FSU finds a way to lose two games.
I don't live in SC so I get the perspective from this not vested in the program and they all texted and said the same thing last night, we'll...that's Clemson football being Clemson football ...u know what they're right.
I fully expect to finish 10-2 or 9-3 but I was hoping for more. Last night was a major meltdown by our team.
No, we don't need to fire Morris or Dabo but they sure as heck bed to watch teams that know to run downhill, use a FB , snap under center etc. I'm sure we'll have short yardage issues all year and it's A very simple, elementary thing to overcome. Just open up a beginners coachin guide to youth football and you'll find the answers.

Had the kicking game been better, we would have walked out with a win. This is an area that needs to be fixed. Disappointed we didn't win, yes, but I am not going to rant and rave about firing people. We WILL WIN out this year.

Might be useful when its like a 6 inches and goal situation ...
Here in Virginia, the papers are having great fun with the "snapping defeat from the jaws of victory" game
Washington Post dedicated a whole section on Clemsoning ...
But I believe TV likes us, great ratings, people watch to see how we find ways to lose a game that WAS a "slam dunk"
