this one hurts. I knew this day would come, but I'm still not ready.
BV has created the biggest shoes to fill ever. He set one helluva standard, and did it with a combination of intensity, creativity and class that was second to none. It might be next to impossible to find a DC that can fill those shoes.
I wish Coach Venables the best in the future and will cheer from afar.

I agree, this one hurts. Really admired Venables' intensity, skill and devotion to Clemson. He was special and most of all, HUMBLE. Really a sad day for me as a Tiger fan. And the team's struggles on offense this year make it even tougher to see Coach Venables leave.

You made some great points.
After a year of, truly struggling on either side of the ball, for the first time since 2014, it's hard to see a good thing go.
I just saw a stat:
Since 2012, only Alabama has given up less points per drive than Clemson. Going to be a tough act to follow.

I agree but I think it may hurt more this year because of the year we had…and let’s face it…there can’t be much confidence that our offense will rebound to what we’ve had in the past next year…the entire situation is in a little bit of a state of flux compared to years past and the most consistent, most reliable piece of the equation (besides Dabo) is now gone!!! It will be very interesting next year…that’s for sure!!!

Can’t blame a man for taking the one job we all knew he would take if it ever opened up.
I can’t ever remember a time when a coordinator will ever be missed so much. I honestly feel like this is the end of the run. Kind of like the Beatles run ending.
