to the weather outside, and then, BOOM!

I just had a huge lightning bolt followed by a thunderclap that scared the Bejeysus out of me hit not far from heyah. When you see the flash and hear the noise at the same time, it warn't far away!

Yes……..and everything in my house that was attached to a phone line was fried. Security system (melted the contacts at the windows & doors, cooked the main box) 3 TV’s toasted, 1 computer deader than a mackerel.

Lucky really. Buddy up the street got hit and his house burned to the ground. No one injured though.

Had something similar at my first house several years ago.

A bolt struck a big pine tree right next to my house, ran in on the antenna line, fried my TV, telephone, and one of the old time 12 foot satellite dishes. Insurance paid me more to get the tree cut down than they did for all the other stuff combined.

We had that happen here just after midnight last night. Everything was calm and then BOOM !

Felt like the entire house rumbled. I have a big dog in a huge kennel just outside my back door. He started barking so I went outside and brought him in. Scared him silly.
