That is because they don't have a rushing game to lean on....
Nearly 1/2 of their rushing yards have been since Leary went out. Even then it was less than 100 yards on nearly 40 carries against Cuse But they had less than 40 yards against us and less than 60 yards against texas tech. Even going run heavy, hey aren't getting long runs nor a lot of TDs (none since leary left). They can't punch it in so to speak.

When Leary got hurt against FSU the backup came in, played the entire 2nd half, and threw 1 pass for -4 yards. They played Cuse the following week and I'm sure Cuse wasn't worried about stopping the pass.
And State couldn't really run the ball with Leary healthy either. It's gonna be a tough finish for State. I see them going 2-3 down thr stretch to finish at 7-5 and below .500 in the league.

but VT is truly awful. I don't know what the line is on that game, but I think State wins by at least a TD at home - even with their terrible offense.

This may devolve into the Wake-VT shootout 7-8 years ago. That being said, I guess I’ll pull for state because it helps the Tigers. I think I need a shot of something to get that taste outta my mind.
