of Congress, how much time does he serve in prison?
What message did Peter Navarro et al receive from this quick conviction?

Well, that worked out about like you'd expect. I mentioned this yesterday. https://www.tigernet.com/clemson-forum/thread/this-is-a-fascinating-defense-2163010?tstart=0
How long did it take the jury to come back with this verdict? Thirty seconds?
My guess would be he does at least eighteen months, just for being an unrepentant grandstanding bunghole and wasting everybody's time. He might do the max. Judges, at least in my experience, do not like unrepentant grandstanding bungholes. And Steve Bannon is just one of those folks everybody wants to punch in the face anyway; my guess would be the judge does just that.

Could they sentence him to 18 months or more and give him the opportunity to cooperate and, once he has to the satisfaction of the committee, be released?

Sentence will be nothing out of the ordinary, no judge

wants to give reason for appeal on sentencing alone. I don't know anything about federal guides for probation on a contempt charge, but hopefully it can add length to the sentence. I'm sure he's headed to a country club prison, so prolly not a big deal to him for a few months, but something that can stick on him afterwards would be helpful.

You people are really bad at compare/contrast

“The department will not bring the congressional contempt citation before a grand jury or take any other action to prosecute the Attorney General,” concluded the letter from Deputy Attorney General James Cole.
White House spokesman Jay Carney said the same thing Friday, saying “it is an established principle, dating back to the administration of President Ronald Reagan, that the Justice Department does not pursue prosecution in a contempt case when the president has asserted executive privilege.”
Bannon ain't AG, Trump didn't assert Ex. privilege.

Liberals be like: “a woman is anyone in a dress”, “a birthing parent”, “abortion should be federal law without it being a law” “illegal drop boxes for everyone”.
Then liberals be like: “established principle”

The reason I use the term “you people” when referring to mindless internet conservative garbage consumers is that it sweetly encapsulates the disdain that I and other reasonable people have for you.

Yeah, but what are they going to do after they subpoena people? Yell at them a lot like guests on Jerry Springer?
The law saws those subpoenaed have to show up. But when you consider what imbeciles like Lauren Boebert, McSpaceLaser Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Matt Gaetz are likely to do...I mean, is it really going to be of any interest to the DOJ?
Call me dubious.
For those subpoenas to be of any value, they have to be used to reveal some sort of crime. Otherwise they're just playing performative Congressional Theater for the true dipsh!ts on Newsmax because even Fox News won't touch this kind of turkey.

If they end up digging up something on Hunter Biden, good for them. I mean, given the dude was a drug addict who had his hand out for every dime of dirty payola he could get courtesy of the very same dudes Paul Manafort was working for, plus the Chinese, plus guys from the UAE...I mean, if he somehow didn't break some sort of law that could wind him up in jail I'd be shocked.
But, seriously...so? What's that end up accomplishing, besides making Joe look real bad? Are we trying to pummel Joe Biden's 31% approval rating down to 26%?
At some point, whumping on a horse that's been dead for years anyhow is...unrewarding.

You're trying to tell me the dude living in Malibu doing paint-by-numbers is somehow running the White House?
That's a new one on me.
I'd look pretty much at that faceless mass of Washington institutionalists Biden has around him. A bunch of them are holdovers from the Obama administration; they're all lifetime Beltway guys (and gals.)
In particular I'd stare hard at Ron Klain, his White House chief of staff. If Biden's got a "handler", it's probably Klain. He's as Chevy Chase as Chevy Chase royalty gets. His neighbors are John Roberts and Brett Kavanaugh.
They say pictures are worth a thousand words....

brblbrblbrblin ‘ idiot, I would trust him and Klain not hire more competent people than the last administration. People that care more about America than the President. No lackeys, suck ups, chicks that are hotter or bustier than they are intelligent.

Every mention of Hunter and his laptop is a weak pointless distraction.
The dude’s been doing drugs and likely lots of other misdeeds. But he hasn’t put the constitution at risk. He hasn’t been a senior white advisor without a title meddling in US foreign policy. He’s likely guilty of nepotism. He’s likely done some overseas private equity deals. Probably legal deals that may or may not involved less than kosher payments. If he’s guilty of a crime I expect DOJ will convict him.
Not much to see here. Certainly nothing close to the Capitol Coup.

that did some sketchy shid, but get away with it because of the last name? If you’ve lived more than 30 years, that list will be longer than the inches on your penor, even if you gotta big one. And like you say, he has done squat to damage our constitution. The mindless conservative internet followers fuss like a 2 yr old being told no. None of ol Joes kids are in the oval with him, certainly not Hunter…it’s like the kids that wanna film the fight on their phones, they just want to be in it , even if they’re not. When what they should be doing is saying , Hey dude, cut it out.
American politics needs to crucify the fight filmers.

Joe Biden gets a cut of Hunter's profits from his business

deals with Chinese and Ukrainian Energy companies. The only reason Hunter has business partners in China is because of his dad and the access he has given these business partners to his dad. Hunter may be the smartest person that Biden knows, but he is a crackhead.
The pubs will go after the Bidens very hard after they gain control of the House and Senate next election.

And Joe knew nothing about it? Joe said he didn't. Joe got his 10%. We know Joe lied. Joe threatened to withhold a billion or more from Ukraine if the President didn't fire the Prosecutor looking into corruption by Hunter. Hunter didn't affect foreign policy? Hunter worked deals with the Chinese to benefit himself and his dear old dad. Neither situation affects the lives of America's workers huh? You must love the status quo.

Agree - but those future contempt of Republican subpoenas will go nowhere with the current crew running the DOJ. If the Republicans take the House, you can bet an investigation and subpoena for Hunter Biden will be in the near future but I doubt very seriously Merrick Garland would ever bring the heat when Hunter Biden refuses to appear...
