With Brady gone. Rothlisberger gone. Rodgers probably gone.

Jan 29, 2022, 4:08 PM

Marks the end of the great QB era. There is a big void of serviceable NFL QBs. Deshaun will have plenty of options. I could see him winning SBs with Tomlin or Arians. Assuming his legal disputes settle in his favor

Rogers is getting traded to Denver**

For draft picks. That team is ready to explode, just like right before Peyton went there.

they will never explode with rodgers at the helm. Proven underachiever. Prima donna. No accountability. Pretty lazy. Too cool for school. You name it.

Thing is I wonder if his disputes will settle in his favor. I could see if the # was 1, 2 ,maybe even 3 but what is it up to now; 16 or something like that.
I am beginning to think Deshaun's day maybe fewer. I guess we see come April

Apparently they are down to just 2 or 3 that won’t settle, so he’s getting there, and it’s like 22 total lol.

I think also there have been no criminal charges, only civil and he is still getting paid (I believe this is correct) which tells me that neither a DA nor the NFL's legal counsel feels that there is significant doubt whether he can be proven guilty of any of the civil charges. In my simplistic opinion he will be traded and whoever lands him will be better off for it and this may become a story of a man quietly persevering persecution.

Doubt Rodgers is gone (retired). Maybe not a Packer for long though...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I strongly disagree with you

Indeed an era is ending with recent Hall-of-Fame QB retirements like Peyton Manning, Drew Brees and Tom Brady (GOAT). However, great QBs like Pat Mahomes, Josh Allen, DW4, Justin Herbert, Joe Burrow are ready to take over. There will be no lack of great QB play compared to previous years. Depending how things turn out, guys like Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray and Trevor may be added to the list.

The great QB era will continue for many years to come with a different set of players.

Brady hasn't announced he's retiring. Even ESPN is now refuting this "news" from ESPN. Didn't think this network of wokeness could make themselves look any dumber, yet here we are.

C'mon now

Jan 29, 2022, 8:00 PM

ESPN hasn't refuted anything, is standing by their initial report, they don't look dumb and this has nothing to do with "wokeness".

Somebody in Brady's inner circle betrayed him and leaked the info to Darlington and Schefter. Darlington is solid as a rock and needs more air time. I'm not a fan of Schefter at all.

Brady will make it official on his own terms. I imagine leaker got chewed out royally.

I feel dirty defending ESPN. There is enough legit stuff to blast them about.

I also believe the "woke mob" is a real and present danger to this country. But let's not dump everything in that hole when it doesn't belong there.

OK, how about "contradicting" themselves? You have an ESPN reporter tweeting something contrary to another ESPN reporter. Either way it makes ESPN look dumb. They are a scourge on college football and colege sports in general.

Re: C'mon now

Somebody in Brady's circle leaked his decision to both ESPN guys. Once everything blew up, Brady had others privately and publicly (such as his father) deny a decision has been made. ESPN had to report this also. There is no contradiction.

The bottom line though is they are sticking to the original story and said Brady will officially announce "when he's ready". The statement released by Brady's agent Don Yee is very telling IMO. He doesn't even deny a decision has been made but says an announcement "should be soon".

Definitely ESPN has grown to be a huge negative for college football but that is another subject.

Two of their guys got the scoop with this Brady retirement thing. NOBODY else did. ESPN gets scoops far and away better than anyone else. I still don't like Adam Schefter though. Jeff Darlington and Woj are great.

There has never been better a younger crop if great QB's. It's never been better. The NFL is stacked when it comes to QB's.

You have to draft one and nobody is giving the Panthers one if them. There are probably 6 future Hall of Fame QBs all 27 or under in the NFL right now.

Sorry bud

Jan 29, 2022, 9:27 PM [ in reply to who are these mythical beasts and how do we get them to the ]

There are none of these beasts in the 2022 draft. Gonna be a long season for the Panthers.
