I feel like the luster faded on that play after we couldn't pick up 1-2 yards the last time we tried it.

Don't run the "double beef" to the outside. Whenever we are inside the 5 especially first and goal. That package should be there, with direct snap to whomever in backfield (preferably TRAIN) for next for plays STRAIGHT AHEAD. Cannot believe any team could take that punishment four straight plays and keep us out of the end zone. Of course, that would make too much sense. Same should apply inside 30 on any 3rd and 1 - commit to running it twice.

As long as we don't try to get "cute" with it by pitching out, we should be okay. Just running it up the middle should work EVERY TIME!!!

And if it doesn't work (because Bama is geared to control the LOS) you are giving them the ball back and 2 vital defenders are immediately back at it. Not sure that's the gamble I would take but hey, coaches get paid to make these decisions and nobody is better situated than them.

I doubt it. Alabama is much more vulnerable to the spread than they are to a variation of what they basically see all the time.
