Will BT Potter handle all of the kicking this season?

Apr 14, 2022, 10:45 AM

Thinking that opportunity may have been promised in order to get him to return for 2022?

Except for the one mishandled snap, he look pretty good punting last Saturday.

I don't like the idea of THE place kicker being THE punter too. The mechanics are different and an injury takes down two important "positions" on the team.

BT is a great kicker ... and maybe he can eventually become a great punter, but that takes time as the punting goals are distance AND hang time.

Agreed. Kickoffs, Extra Points, Field Goals, and Punts. Oh my.

Chris Gardocki and Nelson Welch both did it very well.

My feeling is that Potter will handle all the kicking this year and he will be good at it all.

Well if he learns how to catch a snap

Then maybe

Yes, there was that ... he needs more snaps.

Muffed snaps cannot happen. They’re game changers.

Most likely yes

Coaches value players they “trust” most of all. Potter has been consistently good to great in many a key moment. I think that will win the day unless someone just really out performs him, which seems unlikely.

As long as he doesn't try to run the ball.

I don’t care who punts, but I hope we select someone so can catch the snap!
