So take one of the best head coaches in the country out of the head coach job, put him in a job he’s never done, and then find someone with less HC skillset to run the football program? Got it.

I wonder if we can get around the rules by letting Elliott be head coach and we have a roaming Athletic Director Dabo Swinney roaming the sidelines doing what he normally does anyway.

I think Dabo is the kinda CEO that could find a better replacement than self. The guy just knows people. Plus he could set the successor in position while maintaining the right support around him

1) Dabo wants a pay cut?
2) Dabo wants to step away from the sport he loves?
3) Dabo wants to step away from the players he loves?
4) Although Dabo does seem to be the type that could succeed in that transition when many other coaches have failed, it's certainly not a guarantee. We KNOW he's a great football coach.
5) I am on record as supporting Dabo in any way he wants to run his program, but one of the criticisms I read on here about him is his commitment to his own people. So anyone who want a new basketball coach or baseball coach, keep in mind that Dabo will PROBABLY look to work with the current coaches until it just can't be done anymore...a threshold that will almost certainly be farther along than some of you want.

This would be the worst idea I have read to date. The coots tried that and it worked out well...NOT. Plus why take a top 3 head coach who is in his prime and make him an administrator and kill your football program? Makes no sense.

Radakovich made a reported $800,000 per year. Dabo makes more than 10 times that.
Dabo might want to be an AD when he's ready to retire from coaching, but, as of now, the Clemson FB coach is the far better position than the Clemson AD.

So you had rather Dabo be working on rowing regattas and women's softball schedules rather than meeting with the football team and working on game plans. There are not enough hours in the day to do both. NO!
