Swinney updates player availability, thoughts on opener against Georgia

Head coach Dabo Swinney says his team is ready to get the season started. Swinney spent about 20 minutes speaking with the media following Wednesday’s practice and indicated that the game plan is in place and the rest of the week will be spent fine-tuning things. Full Story »

I hope no news is good news on Mr Davis

I didn't like the look on Dabo's face when

Sep 1, 2021, 8:29 PM

he was asked about Tyler. His smile went to straight-faced in a hurry.

I'm not a body language expert, but it looked to me as if something is going on there.

If Davis was good to go I see no reason Dabo wouldn't have

Sep 1, 2021, 9:25 PM

just said "he's playing". The fact that Dabo didn't confirm he is playing tells me that Tyler Davis is either out for Saturday or they will evaluate him Saturday to see if he can go. I hate this - seems poor Tyler can't catch a break and be healthy for our big games...

I kinda think we're going to evaluate in Saturday.

Just a gut feel...

Oh For F*CK Sake...Maybe Dabo Had Gas or Thought

The question was stupid

I don't think the writer of this article got this correct...

Sep 1, 2021, 8:27 PM

"He says Georgia is very stout up the middle and on the outside. He said you win football games from the inside out, and Georgia has that. Swinney says there are lots of things to do to overcome that but he won’t let his secrets out".

Dabo never said he has "secrets" to address Georgia's 'stout up the middle and outside'.

Dabo was asked if he would run hurry-up to try and tire out Georgia and their size. That's where he mentioned he's not going to divulge his gameplan on Wednesday.

The writer is David Hood. You can take it to the bank.

Well, guess we’ll know Saturday on Mr. Davis. I did get a good vibe about Ross though from CDS’s words.

Why does an outdoor stadium in NC have artificial turf? That

Sep 1, 2021, 9:02 PM

is asinine

David Tepper bought an MLS team (Charlotte FC) that starts next year. With the wear and tear of having a pro soccer team games along with the Panthers and college games I think they made a cost decision that its cheaper to have the turf field vs. constantly replacing and re-sodding the field.

It is kinda stupid in my view, especially when Tepper is worth around $10+ Billion to worry about a few extra million dollars a year.

A large stadium like BOA sucks for soccer anyways. I had season tickets to the NE Revolution for 3 years on the ‘promise’ (to season ticket holders) that Bob Kraft was ‘this close’ to completion on a deal to build a soccer only stadium in Boston. Those of us that season tix in Gillette would get priority for the new soccer only stadium. Too bad Kraft had his focus on taking other things to completion.

Fake grass = So they can make a ton of money on big time concerts now. Rich get richer. Panthers will be building a new stadium anyway very soon.
